Frankie Gavin vs Junior Witter - Predictions

I think witter is past it. Think he gets outpointed by the younger fighter.

 

Gavin on points for me.

If he's off like he was against Mutley though Witter could certainly pick his pockets and beat him. Considering how shot Mutley was, with no punch and a weak chin....

Witter still has a decent beard and if he times something will have heavy hands too, Gavin needs to be watchful.

What he really needs to do is ram his jab home, when he's pawing with it he's awfully predictable and appears ponderous in the ring. Work the jab, throw the hard right hand to the body, those are his two best shots.

 

My prediction: pain. For everyone watching. Frankie's hardly explosive and Witter's never anything more than tedious at this stage in his career. Expect an ugly night of clinching, posturing and ineffective boxing from Witter, with a technically sound but lifeless display from Gavin.

 

Witter beat Colin Lynes for the title in a half decent performance tbf, and Colin Lynes was coming off of a very good win over Lee Purdy so I don't think Witter is as shot as people think he is.

I believe Frankie should take it but wouldn't be surprised at all if Witter won.

Ive gone for Gavin on points but I think if he boxes clever for the first few rounds and then puts his foot on the gas he can get Witter out of there late.

Witter never had a good work rate in his prime and I think Gavin could get him out of there.

 

Can't see that, honestly. Gavin's defensive prowess is at its best early on. He turns really well, and gets himself in tough positions for his opponent to strike.

Witter's reflexes are very faded, so short of Gaving walking on to something (which he's not prone to doing), I can't see an early KO. The Hitter can't pull the trigger any more, even if Frankie is eating sausage suppers.

I think Gavin take a fairly wide points win in an ugly, mauling fight.

 

If Gavin fights like he did against woodhouse then Witter will win. Witter might be getting on now but is still on a different level to woodhouse.

they both have had disappointing careers , junior never amounted to anything but a paper champion and a blithering idiot who'd drop hattons name he was exposed by andreas kotelnik in his prime years, gavin is just a disappointment he couldn't convincingly beat curtis woodhouse who was stopped by dale miles. whoever wins this is just the best of the worst.
james hare and my boy jawaad too sleek khaliq were better then both these 2 losers but they never got the opportunities

 

Hopefully the winner faces Bradley Skeete next in a stadium superfight.
