This is true, Leonard always preferred to plant and unleash combos rather move and potshot. He was arguably the most versatile boxer in history, but that was his A game, and his A game proved to be well below Duran's.

Now that that's out of the way, I'll get to my main reason for posting: What are the other 2189 boxing myths and where can I find them, numbered as such?

In other words he fought Duran's fight. He may have gotten smart afterwards, but he still fought Duran's fight by going toe to toe with him. The thing is that he pretty much matched Duran in that fight. It wasn't a blow out. A lot of times the judges get fights wrong. This was not one of those casses it was a close bout. Another set of Judges could have just as easilly scored the fight to Leonard.

Team G is compiling an extensive list to be published in major boxing mags across the webs. Such as...

Did Duran really knock out a horse with a right cross?

No! Due to the brilliant investigative work by Team G, we secured an interview with Pedro Mendoza the stable hand on the night in question, apparently it was a range finder jab, the horse was apparently bought from a ranch in Poland.

Leonard just gets a rep for being a dancer and mover because he fought that way in a couple fights. He more often than not fought flat-footed.

Just like how Hagler gets a false rep for being a really aggressive come forward fighter.

Taylor being ruined from that fight is another myth/exaggeration.

    Diminished? Yeah.

Ruined? He scored the 2nd best win of his career about a year after Chavez, in a division he really wasn't suited for.

Yeah, let's just go with Thread Stealer's clips to cut to the chase.

Duran at his arguable peak, particularly defensively (DeJesus III). Third fight begins at 6:57 (although their second was an absolute banger):

    :hey

It's also an interesting point, because the "two steps" method was still something Duran implemented by constantly feinting Leonard and making him go back on his "plan" and trying to often escape anyways or sidestep, which he hadn't really mastered until he move up (almost the opposite argument of dectractors; he tried to use certain NO tactics, and they backfired). Just look how the left hook is set up and followed up on:

Not if they had competent vision. Competitive doesn't mean close.
