Just rewatched Froch v Bute. . .

Personnally, I still believe Bute was not on Froch's level that night. That was a horrible afternoon. As a fan, obviously, I am able to convince myself that something went wrong and can be corrected. That's wishful thinking of course but nobody will be able to stop me wishing. :bart

Until then, I won't argue with anyone saying Bute is a hype job.

Not by me. I considered Ward had more risk in a Dawson or Hopkins fight but only at 175.

 

I live in Nottingham so have been aware of Froch since before he even turned pro, and i've been a big fan of his for many years now. The man is a proven warrior with supreme physical and mental tougness, a will to win that rivals that of any active fighter, under-rated technical skills, bags of stamina and a cast iron chin.

He's ****ing great for the sport. The saying 'he'll fight anyone, anywhere, anytime' was made for him, and he's proven it time and time again. If more fighters had his attitude then we'd have seen certain super fights that we've missed out on, that's for sure.

Lucian Bute won my respect that night in May. I was always a MASSIVE critic of his and had been calling him a fraud for years. He hadn't shown any willingness to leave Canada and his fans were among the most obnoxious i've seen in many a year. That said, he took the risk in coming over here and it backfired, fair enough, **** happens. At least he was willing to take that risk, and he could have easily stayed in his corner after round 4 but he showed serious balls in answering the bell for the 5th. He was almost guaranteed to be KO'd, yet he still came out to take his beating. Possibly not the smartest move, but he showed a pair of bollocks in doing so. He conducted himself tremendously well after the fight aswell, staying to applaud Froch and not offering any excuses at all.

 

Ward run like a *****ed for a huge payday against Bute who's far more popular In Canada/Romania than Dawson will ever be in US, and produce better earnings in Montreal. But Ward's mind was never to cash in by fighting there, only Oakland which would not make the right money to take the fight. So he gone for safety(168) and legacy(Dawson name LHW champ) instead of money and risk(close fight enemy territory)

 

I'd like Bute's chances with Ward better than I like is chances in Froch II. Mostly likely Ward would not ever seriously hurt Bute. Froch will, and Bute has minimal survival skills.

 

That is quite annoying.
But to be fair,there are a few Bute fans who have shown some real class in the wake of the defeat.Not saying who they are because as far as I'm concerned,we're at war again but sure they know who I mean and I don't want the good guys getting big headed.:hey:bbb

The bare-faced cheek of some of them is astonishing though.It's like the fight never happened.
Some seem happy to actually try to use the "hostile crowd" excuse!:shock:

I never fully believed the "hostile crowd" excuse but haven't completely ruled it out either. It's just not that credible to me. Bute is a cool and down to earth guy, a pro, something like that shouldn't effect you to the extend you look like you forgot how to box.
I'm thinking if something went wrong with him it was some unlucky events that gone to a bad weight-loss who weekend his already not so great punch-resistance to the extent that he's legs were gone at any decent punch taken.
Few hours ago when seeing some furies Froch unleashed on Bute in a tv spot, I noticed something else. Froch was ****ing brilliant there. He jumps into the distance Bute is most uncomfortable in and doesn't has much of a arsenal(punch's to trow) and puts insane pressure on him with short compact and powerful punches thrown at an insane work-rate. Bute was surprised to the extend he didn't had much time to think of any kind of solution. Being immediately hurt brought him in a worst place possible(No legs to help him out).His defense being based on movement, head and body, Froch just took that away. To easy I might say, and could be a result to the excuse I'm susceptible to believe. In the next fight his team needs to plan ahead, and take extra percussion. The best plan is to surprise Froch at similar extent, to do what he will never expect and to shock him in the same way. Could he pull this out? I don't know. But I would love to see if it could.

 

Froch was more then brilliant that night, he was invinsible! Mentally and phsically, that was Froch's best fight and i doubt he could top that in drive!

Bute - You better believe he is going to fight a totally different fight this time around. His courage surprised me. He never even hit the floor with that sort of assault...

 

It was the fight with Jean Pascal for the WBC title that really proved what Froch is at world level.He raised his game and took the fight to his opponent and has done that more or less since then.He`s resilient and robust more than a technical fighter.

 

The best one remains "it wasn't him that night" atsch They simply can't give Carl any credit and accept the fact that there are fighters out there who are better than Bute, I guess that's the consequences of hype.

The second loss of Bute in March will be a big fat slap in those Butards faces. :hat
