    130: Genaro, Corrales
    135: Castillo X2
    147: Baldomir, Mosley
    154: Cotto

But to answer this i'd say the best fighters in the division when floyd fought in it were:
    130 - Corales
    135 - Castillo
    140 - Kosta
147 - Cotto, Margo then Pac at floyds second run at welter
154 - definetly not oscar the 1st time floyd fought there - And not Cotto the 2nd time - I's prob say Martinez was still number one IMO

I agree. In days gone by, up and coming fighters were matched with other up and coming prospects and this made for some good fights. Nowadays fighters are so obsessed with keeping their o that this doesn't really happen as much. It's not all down to the fighters though. A couple of losses on your record affects your chance of a title shot more then it used to so fighter are more worried about losing.

Martinez would chop his left nut off, for a chance to fight Alvarez, Cotto, Manny or Floyd at 154.

The only reason he's at middleweight is cos none of them will fight him. And he's a very small middleweight

If he signed to fight any of those now, I know who i'd favour to win.

147 Margarito? When Mosley had just stopped him, how was Margo better when Floyd fought Shane? Martinez was not at 154 when Floyd fought Cotto so behave

I had margo number one when he fought Baldomir.

Even though baldomir had the belt, theres no question in my mind that williams and margo were the much tougher fights.

Yes i agree with what your saying. On that basis you cant rank him above cotto. however cotto's record to be number 1 at 154 is shocking. He never beat a ranked 154 fighter except maybe foreman.

I'd still favour martinez over everyone at 154 and i still think he's the best in that division even without being ranked in it

Just because he would beat everyone at 154, does that mean he is "the best in the division" despite the fact he hasn't fought there in nearly 4 years? Is Pacquiao still the best lightweight in the world as well just because he would beat everyone down there?
