    Doesn't matter - both sucked.

A bit harsh... but neither was that good. Ottke was a mediocre champion at best (kind of level and style of Ruiz at HW), and Reid's claim to fame was having a fairly even fight (maybe Reid could have won, but so what..) with this mediocre fighter. Larsen also beat Ottke... so what.

Oh and then he gave Calzaghe an ok fight in a fight where Joe only used 1 had most of the fight. Again... no big deal.

All in all... let's not hype any of these guys.

Ottke was hugely protected mediocre champion, and Reid was a good challenger who never really got the success he could have gotten. But neither of them would be (or should be) in the top 10-15 all time in the division.

He was warned for legal shots to the body and then deducted a point for bringing dipping his head and then Ottke running into his head repeatedly. :patsch

If it was a robbery then it is the ref's fault. It was actually a close fight to score because of the way the referee directed the fight.

As a scorer I scored it for Ottke, if it wasn't for that silly point deduction then it would have been a draw.

Who cares.Yeah it was farcical but Sven doesn`t care about the criticism. He was in boxing just to make the money as much as he could with the refs and judges who he must of bunged a few dollars to to win his fights. He must think that he saw the sport as an ideal cash cow as long as he did something good to get his first title and to make sure all rules were bent to keep it.He did well for that you can`t blame him.

One of the worst ive seen, that Danny Williams one in Germany a couple of years back was as bad though at least. Where they kept cutting the rounds short whenever Williams stepped it up. Horrible.

Just seen that, yep that was horrendous officiating,Coggi"won"the fight with a 7rd tko aswell.Insult to injury is an absolute pure description of it.There was an obvious rematch,at the MGM Grand Las Vegas.Coggi got a legitimate win this time apparently.3rd round stoppage.
