Marquez and Floyd had an agreement for the fight at 144lbs, even though Marquez said 140lbs was the highest he could go to without causing problems.


Floyd ignored that agreement and cheating Marquez on the scale coming in at whatever Marquez like.

Floyd put a clause in the contract where he would only pay a penitence to Marquez for breaching this.

Marquez could have walked away and lost money, cost the fans their weekend as well as the fighters on the undercard and everybody else involved in the event.

But Marquez was a professional and a man of honour, unlike Floyd.
