Of course he is. Great fighters have that 0 on their resume. Do you see a 0? No therefore Pea=/= ATG. Why i'm not sure his resume is any better than Wesley Ramey! I can forgive one loss, maybe as many as three but anything more than that and you night as well have lost 50 times for all it matters! And he was knocked out by a nobody! Pea is vastly overrated.

If Roger Mayweather can drop Pea than Floyd can spark him because Money doesn't have a glass jaw like Uncle Rog'.

Chavez win is better than any win against Manny could be now, another 147 champ = ???, who is good enough at 147 now to help push May above Pea?

You **** on the Nelson and Chavez wins but now say a clearly past his best Manny would push Mayweather above Whitaker? Double standards much?

Chavez was a world beater when whitaker beat him? Remind me who chavez had beaten in the last 3 years prior to the fight, and what did chavez do after this fight. Oh wow chavez beat camacho in 1992. The win over chavez is nice, but highly overrated. Chavez peaked from 86 until the meldrick fight.

Pac basically whopped bradley for 11 rounds, but gets robbed and now hes shot, im sorry thats the real double standard.

Many Consider JLR, Nelson & Chavez.. All great fighters. He wiped them all, and EASILY. There were borderline greats like McGirt and Vasquez whom he also beat. Let's not forget about great fighters, when well past his best, and coked out that he gave a great fight to... I think he beat DLH and gave a great showing against Felix. No matter if you felt he won or lost the Oscar fight.. That was pea past his best against a prime DHL. That version of DLH would've steamrolled Floyd. To be frank Floyd and to a lesser extend Pac wouldn't have stepped in the ring with the fighters Pea did. you honestly believe Floyd would step in the ring with a beast like Vasquez? Please. A prime DHL or Feliz lulz.. Or how about a Chavez or Nelson.. LULZ. Please. Whitaker is underrated if anything not overrated.

turbotime, Thank you. I always thought this about Pernell and other fighters who were too good to be appreciated. Against Chavez his bodypunching is what kept Chavez from rushing in. It was amazing to see.

Floyd would be scared to step in the ring with nelson and vasquez? Great to see objective posters, whitaker's romance continues to grow. Hes gotten so overrated its not even funny, outside of mcgirt and chavez, hes essentially untested.

Pea is one of the best boxers ever.

Still leaves me shaking my head in awe when I watch.

I don't do that for guys like Chavez and Duran, honestly. Pernell was just the epitome of a natural boxer; Nearly impossible to hit, fundamentally sound, impeccably creative, always on balance, and these gifts and skills carried him to victories over guys who dwarfed him; TRUE rising in weight accomplishments, not just the image of them, like Roy Jones.

If we give Manny Pacquiao and his massive legs credit for rising the divisions, tiny Pea should get just as much.

Chavez, McGirt, Rivera, Haugen...All very good fighters. Pea was tested as much as many of the best modern fighters, including Floyd, who only recently started taking objectively difficult contests(Cotto and Mosley. His resume between these and Corrales is utterly barren.)

Pernell fought probably the best Delahoya you could fight, who was fast and had a great counter left and hung in there with him. Pernell was the real deal.

Floyd scraped by an old Oscar, Oscar 10 years earlier scraped by an old Pea. I'll take Whitaker's performance anyday, I've never seen a p4p fighter turn in a worse performance against a guy he should have smoked as Floyd against DLH.

Ike quartey arguably beat oscar, but floyd would get his butt kicked. I thought everyone he keeps saying pernell was past it, so why keep bringing up guys pea fought when he was old, why dont u focus on guys whitaker fought when he was 'invincible'. I honestly wouldnt be shocked if shane mosley went undefeated against whitaker;s opponents from 1985-1996, his resume is so thin for someone that gets worshipped like a god on this site. Great great fighter, but overrated accomplishments.
