Somewhat.. BUt Golovkin has been ducked for years, They had to do something otherwise he would never be super champ

Geale and his team knew of the obligations they would have to take on prior to the Sturm fight. Even though the WBA have done the dirt on him, its not as if they sprung it on him out of nowhere. Golovkin was due his shot at the full title and Geale knows that. Been waiting since 2010. Saying that though, its not right. If ya win it in the ring, let that be the place you lose it and not at a WBA convention.

    My initial thoughts :good

He was really banking on fighting for the unified titles, somthing he never had the balls to go out and do when he was the regular WBA champ.

He still wont be considered super champ because he has not defended the regular title 10+ times or unified with another major (WBO,IBF,WBC) title?

Did you know the WBA recently santioned Martin Murray to fight for the WBA interim Middleweight title later this year? A complete contradiction to the whole situation. Proving my point that the WBA are a joke.

Choc will need the KO for sure now!
SHaw has the IBF in his pocket, I think Geale TBH is happy to not have the WBA for two reasons.
    a) Shaw controls the outcome if it goes 12 now and
    b) Do not need to fight GGG (GGG would easily KO Geale).

Lucky Choc won't need the judges, goodnight Geale

If mundine wins I still classify it as beating a unified world champ. Doesn't change my opinion that this will be one of the biggest fights in Aussie history

I've been saying he will be stripped for ages..my question is why did grange not handle this properly and relinquish the title instead of him being stripped...grange should of handled this better..

Daniel Geale will get the opportunity to contest the WBA title with Gennady Golovkin some time in the future if he chooses.

Not sure how much difference it would have made for Geale if he'd relinquished instead of being stripped of the title? Either way he doesn't hold it any more, and if he'd relinquished it, it may have pissed the WBA off more - never wise to burn your bridges when you don't have to.

Geale isn't stupid, he knew if he faced Golvokin and lost that his big payday against Choc was gone, Mundine is only interested coz Geale has the belts or at least 1 now

Do you also think that if Sergio Martinez hadn't got injured, Geale wouldn't have fought him if the deal could have been done?
