By that standard, anyone associated with Victor Conte is a PED user, which means both Andre Ward and Nonito Donaire are PED cheats.

One thing we do know about JMM and that is he's never renaeged on submitting to a PED test. Both he and Angel Heredia challenged team Pacquiao to take them and they were ignored!

One thing we do know is that Heredia is a strenghth and conditioning coach in which his expertise is vast in comparison to Nacho Beristain.
Beristain had Marquez lifting and throwing rocks in preparation for Mayweather as if Marquez was back living in the stone age.

Heredia may or may not be giving Marquez PED's. None of us really know.
What we do know is that they have never said no to a PED test.

When an athlete say's he's ok with taking a PED test on equal terms with his opponent, there's nothing more to criticize. End of story.

.......and btw for the poster who posted the picture of the Marquez-Pacquiao 3rd fight weighin...... Marquez' physical body in the ring for the 2nd Pacquiao fight looked much leaner and better. A better overall conditioned body for the 2nd Pacquiao fight, in comparison to the traces of fat which he did carry into the ring with him against Pacquiao for that 3rd fight.

Marquez is not naturally a welterweight and it showed entering the ring carrying 150 lbs fightnight.

......and again, this 4th fight could have been negotiated to be fought for Marquez 140 lbs title, but again, Pac, Roach, Arum, etc. refused such an invite.

For your *******s out there, dont blame Heredia for Marquez' schooling of Pacquiao. When it happens again this coming December, that will be twice with Heredia and twice without him!
All you have to do is do the 1st grade math to come to the conclusion that as far as Marquez is concerned, PED's do not enter into the equation as far as his dominance of Manny Pacquiao!

Exactly dumbnut, thats Marquez before getting into serious training, you'd think any athlete going through a two month training camp of rigorous training would come out looking more fit as a result.
    What a dumbnut you are.

.....and btw, I'm a Marquez fan yes......but I've never taken the stance that he takes or does'nt take PED's.

If somebody suspect that he may be taking PED's because he's associated with Heredia, thats perfectly within the realm of a logical estimated opinion, but not a fact.

Now if by chance out of the blue team Pacquiao and co. challenge JMM to submit to PED tests up to the date of the fight and he refuses, I'll be with you that along with Pacquiao himself, JMM is llkely a PED cheat!

.......and off topic just slightly here. I'm of the opinion that known cheats like Conte and Heredia should be banned by boxing from training or advising fighters.
Conte even more as unlike Heredia who's actually hands on in training the athlete, Conte just supplies them with supplements, which I think is ridiculous.
Both should be banned from the sport, but boxing is a corrupt sport to begin with so they're not!

We do know the facts on one thing OPK, JMM has twice schooled Pacquiao without the help of Heredia.
What happened with Heredia being there was only a repeat of what Marquez twice had done previously! :deal:deal

I think Juan looks good. I always remember thinking he gets hit too often in sparring, but clearly it's not indicative of his performances. It seems he's still focusing on controlling the center of the ring, and exits off the ropes on the left side of his opponent to land a few shots(something he says he tried but couldn't always do against Manny.) He seems more intent here on weaving his way inside and triggering feints from down low so he can come in with combinations. I think that strategy would serve him well, since he owns Manny on the inside and still looks tight when going back to counter-punching, not reckless and over-committing to his punches like people thought he would Katsidis-style.

I don't think Manny's going to have it any easier, but I think he is going to look a bit better, since against Bradley, I noticed him stepping over instead of following him around the ring. It's happening so we might as well roll with it and enjoy it.

Got hit a bunch in clips leading up to the 3rd fight too. Had me worried. But now I think he just does it to condition his face and learn to see the southpaw punches without spazzing out.

  8. Juan Manuel Marquez looks incredible for his age. He looks to be in his late twenties, anyone agree?

:good good point. It is smart of him to try and get used to seeing that many punches come at him from that angle

Love how they got that guy moving exactly like Pac. Either JMM has developed some serious power or that guy's chin isnt the greatest, with those gloves and that fill face headguard, its pretty hard to get put on your ass.

The guy was throwing the combos but I noticed they had him throw the straight left a little loopingly (in the beginning of the vid) maybe they're simply practicing timing when he throws it like that? Because Pac doesn't do it as often as that guy just did

    Bradley is'nt Marquez! :deal

On the point of getting hit too much. Marquez will always get hit some.
He's a master boxer, but he's one who's mentality is to always be in range to strike.
The stereotypical boxer mindset is to hit and not be hit, with a heavy emphasis in not getting hit.

Marquez does'nt follow that stereotype. He knows its ok to take a hit every once in a while (provided its not a flush hit) in order to position himself to get off his counters.

A boxer who boxes in range to strike is going to get hit some, its only natural, the other guy does'nt have his hands tied.

Its ok that Marquez takes some hits. Most of the time when he gets hit with flush shots is when he gets to confident in his ability to land with series of combinations. Against dangerous punchers like Pacquiao and Katsidis, thats where he's gotten overconfident in his ability to land in combination that its left himself exposed to a strong counter in return thats dropped him.

Against strong punchers Marquez has to walk that fine line of knowing when to go for the gusto, and sometimes he strays from that.
The 3rd Pacquiao fight he reminded himself of that and never got hit with a real telling blow by Pacquiao.

My point though is that always being in range, his opposition will always have the chance to lay hands on him as well, though with Marquez its he who's skills are better to land the stronger more accurate blows.
