Whoa interesting. I wonder how much input HBO had on this fight, especially after the 164 catchweight was turned down. My worry here is that they're going to try to make Golovkin fight Ward, especially since that was the angle they pushed during the Proksa fight. There are too many interesting fights for Golovkin at middleweight for him to become another guy to be sacrificed to Ward and he'll be seriously undersized at 168. That's assuming of course he gets by Oosthuizen, which I think he should.

Wow. Very good fight. A couple of weeks ago, Oosthuizen's manager said they turned down a fight with Golovkin because Tommy wouldn't have been able to make the proposed 164 catch-weight. Glad to see they could come to turns.

I expect it will probably be his going out party. But we shall see.

Weird fight, especially since GGG just became full WBA champ @ 60.

Should be interesting, anyway. I like both guys. Both are hittable, have good chins. Oost relies on fast combinations and GGG his power. Not sure how long Oost can hold up, though.

Golovkin is great for the sport. This is a guy who can make 154 fighting a very promising 168 fighter. How can you not admire Golovkin? :happy

Now the WBA can use this an excuse to strip him and put the belt on the line in an exciting Sturm-Hearns rematch.
