Changing trainers is a smart move by team Khan but Khan's comments don't help. Also, Roach would be butt hurt after losing one of his cashcows
@AmirKingKhan: I blame myself for the losses in my career. Not blaming @FreddieRoach or anyone. I just needed a change. @AmirKingKhan: Hey guys I didn't say @FreddieRoach is a bad trainer, he's 1 of the best out there and took my career to a high winning 2 world titles. ^^ If that's not shouldering responsibility, then what is?
There's not much wrong with Khan's comments. All he's been doing is giving his reasons for leaving Roach, not reasons for losing his fight. It's not really his fault that people will twist his words and say he's making excuses. And his reasons for leaving have been valid: I need more help than Roach is able to have time to give, hence why I've moved on. His only crime here, perhaps, is mentioning Roach's illness as one of the contributing factors to him moving on, and giving the media the opportunity to take his comments out of context and attribute completely different meanings to them.
Yeah true. He's just not that media savvy. In his mind he thought what he was saying was harmless and true -- which it was -- but was totally unaware of it coming across disrespectful.
I agree with Khan about roach It's a sensitive topic, but logic tells his disease would cause some decline Khan however has no one to blame but himself for the loss
