If I remember right the comuterbox or what is called said Bute out-jabbed Froch. I'll try to find it and post it.
Bute is equal to Froch in jabs landed and superior in percentage but both guys kind of ignored the jabb.
Bute DID leave his jab at home and as a result Froch did land power-punches at will. Thanks for posting!
Against Froch, Bute did exactly the same than in the 12th round against Andrade. Not moving away, trying to brawl and receiving punches. Something was wrong in England. Was it only in Bute's head or was it a combination of factors including his physical condition? I tend toward the latter theory.
The most I look at it the more it seems like all technical stuff. His jab didn't do anything to annoy/discourage Froch, wasn't followed by something and when followed by something it wasn't good enough. No combos only one-two and after those Bute was like " what do I do now ". Going straight for the ropes, defense non-existing, forgot the head movements and started to back up in a straight line. Biggest things Bute needs to fix... it's better use of the jab followed by something dangerous, and find something to trow while retreating after Froch close the distance and started using his hooks.
It could have been a few things: training camp too long/overtraining; foot infection and time-off screwing with the preparation just before the fight; problems making weight leading to sleepless night before weigh-in... etc/. Can they account for more than 50% of the cause for the loss? Not so sure. In the end, I think at least 50% was down to overconfidence (see unrealistic, mad gameplan) and... the fact that Froch was much better.
you boys are gluttons for punishment, what on earth are you going to be like if Bute prevails tonight? You can look for all the excuses in the world, Bute got badly found out in Nottingham and a shellacking like that aint going to improve him one bit. If Grachev can get in range tonight it's all over for you boys :bbb

This. In order to be back as a top dog in the division, Bute has to start dancing/circling around his opponents as oppose to stand still, trade punch for punch and retreat in a straight line. Bute was never that type of boxer. He would put some control pressure on, move away from his opponent when about to get hit and then counter in combination. He never was a volume puncher and never will be but if he can move well enough and pick his spots to let his hands go then he can do a lot of damage to a lot of boxers and that includes Froch.
