    Joe Cortez was BLATENTLY one sided He never allowed Hatton the chance to fight. Shoot he even deducted a point froim Hatton for a puch that hit the top rope didnt touch mayweather. All the time he allowed Mayweather to foream smash like a pro wrestler. That was one of the worst blatent referee ing job ever

    corrales lost to clottey when he was 29 .

    really ? according to mayweather fans , cotto was beaten , broken , battered
    and emotionally scarred after the first margarito fight . did he suddenly regain his prime just before the mayweather fight ? or when he was beating the great foreman , the young ricardo mayorga, or the legally blind margarito ? :verysad


    mayweather might be the best fighter in the world , but he's yet to have that BIG defining moment . ie , the DLH " win " for trinindad, the barrera win for pacquiao etc......

    Yet boxing fans clamor for him to fight a guy who lost his last fight, got a gift in the fight before that to a guy who Floyd outclassed, hasn't stopped anyone in 3 years, lost to a guy who would otherwise have been on 5 fight losing streak, was alsmost kayoed by a jab, has been stopped twice, and boxes as a sideshow to his TV and political careers.

    Terrible post here. His win over Chico at the time was great! And it's not just that he won, it was how dominant he was in winning.

    i think the fact that corrales went on to have a lackluster career post-prison is what takes away a little bit from the win .

    at the time it was tremendous , it's what made floyd jump to the p4p top 5

    Lackluster is not the right word. He found his way to the top of a stacked lightweight division, notching wins over the Freitas, Casamayor, and Castillo--a whose who from that time. He was understandably damaged after Castillo.

    As for this claim, please by all means prove it. How was he drained?

    His weight for his 6 previous fights were 130, 129.5, 130, 130, 130, 129.5

    And after the fight and his jail sentence:
    He would go back to that weight to fight Joel Casamayor twice and Acelino Freitas in World Title matches where he went 2-1 in.

    Mayweather was a 2-1 underdog in the Corrales fight. Was ranked under Corrales in both JR lightweight and P4P rankings.

    really? so what's wrong with what i have said? i simply stated facts that corrales struggled to make weight and he was off by 2 pounds byt the first weigh-in and needs to sweat if off.
