Some people give Naz a raw deal, he beat 4 reigning featherweight champions in Robinson(WBO), Johnson(IBF), Vazquez(WBA) and Soto(WBC), he beat former WBC champion Kevin Kelley, he beat former and future titlist Medina, he had wins over Belcastro, Hardy, McCullough, Bungu and Ingle(future IBF champ). There's not many British fighters certainly recently who can claim a resume as impressive.

 

Hamed had a decent slate, but he only fought one of the top four featherweights of his era and was soundly beaten.

If he'd fought and been competitive with Marquez, Pacquiao and Morales then I'd rank him higher, win or lose.

 

I reread some of my posts sometimes and hang my head in shame I'm clearly not well.

Anyway 'four reigning world champions' is my problem with that defence of Naz.

Paciquao made his name beating Barrera two and a half years after Barrera beat Naseem, and 18 months after Naseem's last fight.

Marquez was still learning his trade when Naseem was in his pomp. I think I remember whispers of a potential bout, but Norwood got there first.

Morales was still a 122lber when Naseem was around.

If you look at Naseem's time frame; of those named only Barrera was a go-er. They were meant to meet earlier, until Junior Jones came along, and so delayed the fight for four years.

 

Buchanan over Laguna or Honeyghan over Curry can't split those two

 

What about Robinson/TurpinI or Duran/Laing? Fitzsimmons/Corbett could be another call. If the fight had been in the UK, I suspect there might of been a clear winner; Louis/Farr...
