The bute of tomorrow will get badly overun by Froch also. Grachev had the chin but not all the tools to KO bute. Froch will KO Bute just as quick next time.

If anyone in Butes camp actually gives a **** about him they will sit him down and flat out tell him to go nowhere near Froch next.

He is in IMO in threat of getting retired and I don't think thats overreacting.

He fought well in the last round that was what he was supposed to do the whole fight against someone like Grachev. Bute's getting knocked the **** out if he fights like he did against Grachev his only hope is that age catches up with Froch

Bute has to say this because this was always the plan. After his defeat to froch he was humble and explained that he wasn't himself, said that he needed 1 fight instead of an immediate return etc. Never for one minute did i expect bute to say he still wasn't ready for froch unless he got beat last night. Saying and therefore admitting to himself that he needed more time would be the final nail in the coffin in regards to his confidence in beating froch.

Sad to say but i think he is deluded and another heavy loss to froch whom is able to hunt and hurt him, whilst not being too bothered by his power could mean the end of his career...

I was very saddened by Bute's apprehension last night. He also seems to have LOST confidence in his power. I could find no way to score the fight for Grachev, although I will say that he did land many shots, and the early HB which drew blood, may have been a confidence builder for him.

Can't say exactly why Bute so badly under performed. I mean Grachev is not an elite fighter. He's a solid fighter. He's got a strong chin. Good defense and good power, but he doesnt shorten his punches all that well, he essentially throws NO jabs. Does he even know how too? He almost forces himself to lean forward as some measure of balance. He's the prototypical B level guy. And he'll never be or beat an elite or even spoil an A level fighter. He has one speed. Steady. And while it might rack up rounds against some types of fighters, he's going to need to be KOing guys if he gonna hang around as a contender.

I don't want to make this a criticism of Grachev. He performed better than anyone might have expected. But it why he was allowed to which sickens me.

It's like from the first rd, Bute was only throwing when he had too. Just enough to be in a round. Perhaps knowing, that all close rds go to the hometown fighter. But he was pulling his punches. He almost refused to commit to anything. His combinations were so few and far between, and his body attack was nonexistent.

Bute wastes these Blevel fighters. I mean he absolutely wastes these guys. Yet for whatever reason, last night, he completely underachieved for 11 rds. I mean don't get me wrong, there were times it looked as if Bute was gonna turn back the clock to May 4th, but just as soon as the shots were throw, he'd pitter patter a jab, put his high guard up and back up against the rope where Grachev would land that R hand. :rofl:rofl

Where the hell was that vicious attack to the body? Where was the spinning of his opponent after a flurry? Hell, where were the flurries?:huh

I don't know if Bute was trying to test himself and was purposefully letting Grachev get off, or if he's so completely lost his confidence that he has become shot overnight.

I'm hoping beyond hope that he was simply allowing himself to go rounds and allowing himself to take shots. Using this fight as a real time sparring session for the Froch fight, but not wanting to give away his hole cards. It aint the most popular idea, but he may have purposefully under-performed on the night, simply because he knows that Carl Froch would be watching. Knowing that a closer fight and showing vulnerability may cause Froch to make less than 100% preparation.
Perhaps the Bute of the 12th rd is the Bute who will show up in rd 1 of the Froch fight? That's Bute's ONLY hope really, because if the Lucian Bute of Rd 1-2 show up against Froch, that's the only Bute we will see, because that's how long he'll last. :-(

That was my thread and by it I tried to point out that both Abraham and Bute have had pretty much the same kind of carreer. Both have been exposed and both have MAJOR weaknesses. I believe a fight between the two would be interesting because they are about the same level fighters and they could neutralize eachother. I still like AA's chance in this one to be honest and I would be glad if Bute fights AA instead of Froch in March 2013. :good

I like Bute but he's nowhere near the kind of fighter his Romanian fanboys are trying to make us believe. I may sound like a hater from time to time but I hate delusion instead of Bute.

AA would brutally KO him, I think. It would only take one big shot and I'm sure he could land it in 12 rounds.

    Like I said:D

It aint a popular idea, but judging from prior performances against similar and even better competition, the possibility was there.

And it wouldnt be the first time a guy purposefully took punches for the sole purpose of testing himself.

As a Bute fan, this is really our only hope.:-(

Also if I may add something, I don't see what people saw in that last round. Honestly, it was Bute's best round of that fight, of course, but if he plans to fight that way aginst Froch he's getting KOed in 10 seconds. The guy was open for literally every shot, his hands were low all the time. He looked good because Grachev wasn't doing **** in that round and he may have been a little bit tired too.

For me that was one of Bute's worst fight of his entire carreer.

It's not just unpopular, it's insane. Utterly, obviously, insane. You gotta let it go.
