He was clearly past prime during his first victory over tarver.

We don't know if the others would struggle or not, we just know past prime Roy did.

Yes Moore jumped up and down, don't see your point though.

    What 29 victories are better?

I never even said he was unbeatable. I said Spinks and foster didn't beat a lhw as good as Jones. I said noone in lhw would I favour to beat a prime Jones.

Strange that he went about 50 fights and 15 years as a pro, fighting numerous world champs and a few HOF fighters and that chin was never cracked.

What makes him great is his range of skills, he simply had tools that no one in history had.

Name me someone at 175 who was faster, for example.

Cassius Clay in the olympics didn't even have close the handspeed Roy had.(If Ali (from the olympics) and Roy (at lhw prime) would be compared in anything other than speed it would be unfair for Ali. Prime Jones would have clowned Ali in the olympics. Which is why professionals aren't allowed in the olympics)
    Patterson was also slower.

Faster in what sence hand speed? Footspeed? Mind? Spinks was fast so was charles

If bob foster hit jones once I would fear for woys life,

Best can bean anything, to some people best may mean boxing skill, where charles, moore and fitzsimmons would be no1-3

    Best might mean most ko's

    Maybe longest lhw title reighn.

    Maybe best lhw title reighn.

    Exct..

    Peece

    But anyway

    michael spinks.

beating both a prime larry holmes and a near prime jerry cooney shows how much he coulve dominated if he stayed at 175

Hand speed, foot speed. prime RJJ beats them all hands down.

A prime RJJ either a) had a much better chin than people give him credit for
or b) Was so friggin hard to hit that it didnt matter.

Young "superman" RJJ never had problems with his chin.

He only got KO'd late in his career. The one against Tarver was a super punch and Tarver was able to hit, and another one was against Lebedev who is one of the hardest punchers at 200lbs.

So in reality in the close to 70 fights hes had in his career, hes only had a couple of bad KOs.

Reigns refer to accomplishments, Im talking about actual ability. Actual skillsets and tools.

Roy did things in the ring that no one else in history was able to do.

Charles is the obvious choice for me on the basis that if he hadn't been around, Moore would be my pick. Charles' H2H superiority swings it in his balance, and contrary to say Pep-Saddler I don't think the outcomes would have been much different prime for prime. Throw in the wins over HOF 175ers Bivins, Marshall and Maxim (albeit at heavy), and it is a very strong resume.

How is Harry Greb not in this discussion? How many LHW Champion did Charles beat?

Maxim, Bivins, Moore, Marshall, Walcott, Yarosz, Ray, Lesnevich are the Champions/Elite LHW's he beat am i missing anyone? Greb's LHW resume is on par with that.

Gene Tunney 2x arguably 3 - LHW & HW Champion
Battling Levinsky 6x - LHW Champion
Mike Mctigue 2x - LHW Champion
Tommy Loughren 4x - LHW Champion
    Maxie Rosenbloom - LHW Champion
    Jack Dillon - LHW Champion
    Jimmy Slattery - LHW Titlist
    Tommy Gibbons 2x
    Miske 2x
    Soldier Bartfield 3x
    Kid Norfolk
    Leo Houck 3x

the chances of rjj beating a near if not prime 35-year-old holmes in a fifteen round fight is close to zero.

spinks had to move to hw because there was nothing left at lhw

Do you dispute the greatness of his opponents?
