lol come on guys, ward said that bute needed to fight some top guys to earn a shot at him. and bute was on his way to doing that when he took the froch fight.

if bute would have destroyed froch..then a fight between him and ward would have been huge!

unfortunately though bute got wrecked. it's as simple as that.

He tried to prove himself on a certain level and got thumped.
What do you guys cry about? He's clearly not on that level.

    agreed.

if he had destroyed froch things would have been different, then ward would have had to fight him cause the world would demand it. oh what could have been..

And Ward is absolutely right about that, he just finished strong hard tournament and had broken hand he needs to fight straight away Bute who was not proven on the highest level and did not participate in tournament with best fighters, end of story! If he was not exposed Ward would fight him.

This thread is just unreal. Who cares if these guys fought Bute or not, Ward, Kessler and Pavlik all have way superior resumes to Bute, who basically looks like a B level fighter.

And all this hatred against Ward is unbelievable, the guy has by miles the best resume in the division and he beat every single fighter convincingly. How many other fighters today can you say that about?

Doesnt stop him being anything. Just noting how he was avoided. But if he is as bad as you think, it makes it so surprising he was avoided as he would have been a big money fight for any of them
Ward said that, when before he said he was going to fight Bute after the S6, didnt want to fight Bute, came out with comments you say, when everyone wanted Ward to fight Bute. It was the biggest SMW fight to be made regardless of who Bute had/hadnt fought, then Ward said he was saying tha to hype the fight when Bute signed to fight Froch and that he did really want to fight him :lol:, when he refused the fight in Oakland

You make it sound like the S6 was more than it was for Ward. Consider
Unbelieveable that you believe in that competition so much.
Ward fights unwell Kessler at home, good win
Ward then fight A Green. Is that now a top major fight and win.
Ward then gets unfairly given 2 points when he didnt fight Dirrell.
Ward then fights Abraham who was on a 1-2 run and had lost his last 2 S6 fights. Thats not impressive.
Ward then fights old jaded plodder Froch and guess what? Ward was the home fighter in all of those fights.

If anything Froch deserves to be called the S6 legend.
    He fights Dirrell at home
    Kessler in Denmark
    Abraham in Finland
    Johnson in America
    Ward in America.

Consider that Froch was away in his fight before Dirrell, and that was against another original S6 fighter.

So out of the 6 original S6 fighters Froch fought all of them and Johnson and was away for 5 out of those 6 fights and that takes its toll on any fighter, and with all those things against Froch and the fact that he is an old past best fighter aqnd only lost by 2 points on 2 cards against Ward and slow old Froch was beating Ward in the last couple of rounds, then Froch fights Bute straight after who Ward didnt want to fight.
Thats just as impressive as Ward was never once the away fighter and had an easier run.

Yes Ward fought in the S6 while Bute didnt, but Bute was willing to take a gamble that Ward never would in fighting away.
Shame Ward didnt fight Bute along with the others who didnt

Pavlik doesnt have a better SMW resume and has yet to prove anything at that weight yet, if at all.

I dont think its that Ward is disliked but that he was in a competition where all of the original participants travelled abroad accept for him.

    Below is an old post

    Thats very true.
Pavlik was beaten by old Hopkins coming off a loss and beaten by a former WW as well as not looking as good at SMW

Over the span of their careers, Pavlik has fought much better fighters than Bute, I know that Pavlik sucks now. My point is, these guys have taken on bigger challenges and risk than Bute himself, but apparently they are the ones that were ducking him. It doesn't make sense.

If the posts were that so way out, they would be able to shoot them down, but like you they cant, so pretend that they cant be bothered then stay on here all night trying to pick holes.

I'm not someone to accuse boxers or avoiding other boxers, I normally try to explain away ducking by showing the fight to be a poor logical choice.

However I can't really explain away Ward and Bute, Bute was regarded as the biggest challenge which Ward hadn't already beaten at 168, would have made alot of money, would have picked up a title in the process as well. On the other hand I can't explain why Bute didn't take part in the super 6.
