History will talk about Floyd's 'boxing is a business' decisions as much as or more so than his fights, in the years to come.

Oscar. Paid Mosley out of his pocket for the rematch, offered Wright triple a career high payday for the fight. Gave Mayweather and Hopkins career high paydays while still being a big underdog.

yes. I agree. Oscar deserves mad respect. Its one thing calling out and fighting everyone when your trying to get to the top.

But Oscar always had a following and was always paid well. He could have gone a much easier route in boxing and he still wold have earned big money.

    He constantly sought out challenges.

The Fab Four, Tyson (86-88), Lewis, Holyfield. Floyd Mayweather does consider his legacy important but it's not necessarily the most important thing to him.

He could have hung around at 140 and just beat the hell out of everyone there, instead he moved up and went after the P4P guys, even tried Middleweight. :nut

I always thought Oscar and Mosley would have made great Light welters but chose to ignore that division.

Legacy don't pay them bills. If you think it does then please send Tommy the Hitman Hearns 100 dollars today.

You're more than just a little stupid, aren't you?

Floyd has been quite open about his business decisions in boxing. It's pretty clear to anyone who follows boxing that Floyd leans towards the financials, in favour of legacy. Money is his middle name and he has made it a practice to be one of, if not THE, highest paid sports stars by fighting just once a year.

JMM is a fighter who fights for legacy imo.

When necessary he has fought, and dominated, fights that weren't particularly lucrative. He's even traveled to Indonesia to get robbed in a decision versus Chris John. The guy has no problems bending to opponents demands to make the fight happen (Floyd with drug tests, Indonesia for Chris John, fighting pac and beating him with or without steroids)

I agree. Oscar was the Golden Boy but he made seriously paydays fighting anyone. And he definitely didn't spend his career fighting Steve Forbes. Most fights he was the underdog, which is a credit to his competitive nature and longing for greatness.

usually Money + Legacy comes hand in hand. Bigger the fights/more things on the line, the more money.
