Why Do brits Seem To Dislike Andre Ward?

Because he has already overtaken calslappy as the GOAT of the smw division!

Well this Brit has nothing but respect and admiration for Ward I think he's a fantastic fighter and yes he really seems a nice guy.

 

I did dislike him, but it has turned into a grudging respect, he's obviously a good fighter and speaks well.

There are reasons to dislike him though.

- The fact he didn't travel like the rest of the super6, seemed unfair
- His embarrassing nickname
- His ugly and dirty style, though I admit he looked better in the Dawson fight

I'm a brit and i don't mind him. I actually think he's currently the best fighter in boxing right now, in any weight class. So complete.

My only issue is i find him boring. Inside and outside the ring. I'm fine with sloick bxers. I enjoy floyds and gamboas style. But i just find wards style similar to hopkins, where i find it frustrating to watch.

Wards not disliked, but some of the things that you dislike get blown out of preportion by his hyped up fanboys.

He entered a competition where all of the original contestants travelled abroad except for him.
Never took the gamble that the other fighters took and seemed to get allowed to get away with a bit fighting at home. Like the headuse against Kessler, yet Kessler was the fighter who got warned about head use.
As said its more his fans, who think he has done something amazing by winning the S6 which is overated and very overated when you see the ride Ward got
Froch really in a way became the S6 legend even though he didnt win -

Ward fights unwell Kessler at home, good win
Ward then fight A Green. Is that now a top major fight and win. At home
Ward then gets unfairly given 2 points when he didnt fight Dirrell.
Ward then fights Abraham who was on a 1-2 run and had lost his last 2 S6 fights. Thats not impressive. At home
Ward then fights old jaded plodder Froch and guess what? Ward was the home fighter in all of those fights.The home fighter.
If anything Froch deserves to be called the S6 legend.
He fights Dirrell at home
Kessler in Denmark
Abraham in Finland
Johnson in America
Ward in America.
Consider that Froch was away in his fight before Dirrell, and that was against another original S6 fighter.
So out of the 6 original S6 fighters Froch fought all of them and Johnson and was away for 5 out of those 6 fights and that takes its toll on any fighter, and with all those things against Froch and the fact that he is an old past best fighter and only lost by 2 points on 2 cards against Ward and slow old Froch was beating Ward in the last couple of rounds, then Froch fights Bute straight after who Ward didnt want to fight.
I think Ward not wanting to fight Bute after the S6, didnt look good either.

 

He's the real deal and the best role model in boxing right now

His biggest fan on ESB is british, Dipset. Havent seen a lot of hate for him apart from maybe a few Calzaghe nuthuggers
