    Rough translation of Lara's post...
"My Fight night trunks will display the colors of Mexico.
    This is for the latinos!
Mexico has shown me alot of respect & love.
    From the heart Thanks!

I've sent to Cuba in the past videos of pro boxers from Mexico , since they can't watch pro boxing over there. Many of my friends are now big fans of morales , Barrera, Chavez sr,Marquez .You go to the country side in Cuba and the music they listen at is rancheras and Mariachis they love dressing a la pancho villa.
There's absolutely no animosity against Mexicans in Cuba since there's no rivalry in traditional sports like baseball and soccer. In amateur boxing Mexico doesn't represent a treat since they rather to jump pro very young.Nobody in Cuba can watch hbo or showtime and pro boxing is forbidden .
No Cuban has been mad at Napoles for becoming a Mexican citizen, we appreciate instead how he's been treated as an equal.

Just because he is giving props to another country does not mean he is disowning his own. Yeesh some of you nationalists are terrible.

Fact is when not in competition against one another latinos will support other latinos. Just like in the World Cup Brazil gets all the love from latinos in the final. Once that fighter eventually becomes a living legend, well then internationally you get the love and respect and so forth.

I am Cuban and I don't see anything wrong with him wearing Mexico's colors or flag. He still has the Cuban flag and I am 100% sure that he still loves Cuba and it's people. Maybe it's also that he has made great friends in his professional career as pro boxing is full of Mexicans. Plus, it's always possible that he is also doing it to gain more Mexican fans. Before this came up, he has always showcased his Cuban pride in his boxing trunks, it's no big deal really.

The bottomline is that everyone knows he is Cuban just by looking at him. There's no place to hide that!

    ;)

Nothing wrong with this at all . If anything it's probably to get the mexican attention and push for a canelo fight

Might as well do it is the only way he'll make any money and have any fans, cubans in the US dont support fighters. Only time gusanos support their fighters is when they defect and talk bad about the cuban revolution then after a day they are forgotten.
