Listen mate,I'm a huge convert when it comes to Bellew, and I think he's really pulled it together in and out of the ring, but he went life and death with Ovill McKenzie then played out a snoozefest in the rematch before Clev,so what I'm saying is that Nathan's best win was,at the time, nowhere near world class or level.
I'm not trying to slag Bellew here because I like the guy a lot.
You could say that Bellew has taken a far more admirable route since then.

I'm surprised he hasn't called out Roy Jones yet.Everyone knows he'll let anyone punch **** out of him for a few sheckles nowadays.

    This.

Bellew is a great guy who is improving all the time, and will, imo, fight for a world title again in the future. That said, he hasn't proven to be any better than C level so far. He's a realist aswell and i imagine he'd admit this. I'm almost certain that he has the ability to go on to world level and i sincerely hope he wins a world title in the future, but he's not there yet.

I'm trying to strike a balance, there are a lot of hypocrites on here.

The way I see it is this. If some people on here are adamant Ricky Burns is world class. Then OK, in that estimation, so is Nathan Cleverley.

People claim this becuase of the fighters Ricky Burns has faced. Nathan Cleverley has fought at the same sort of level. So has Audley Harrison. Being world class IS NOT about who you fought, its about how good you are, how skilled you are.

Ricky Burns is not world class yet, but has the potential to be/and to show it, when he starts fighting the best in the US.

Nathan Cleverley is not world class yet either, I don't know if he has the potential to be, I'm 50/50 at the moment. He likes a scrap to much and this will be his downfall at the highest level.

Audley Harrison was never world class.

Ricky Burns is not world class because he fought, Moses, Katsidis and Mitchell. If Ricky Burns is world class, then its about the ability of the fighter.

Just trying to strike some balance guys......if Ricky Burns is world class, so is Nathan Cleverley.

Those are your words mate, not mine.

Clearly aimed at me Craney, but where have I said anything about Clev's ability or lack thereof?
I was talking about how you slaughter Burns and his resume yet are on here defending Clev.

Is it any different from the deluded people on here defending Ricky Burns then?

I did it to show you how f*cked up this place is......

I don't think much of Cleverley at all!

But the Ricky Burns fanboys (not you) want their cake and to eat every last crumb of it. If Ricky Burns is "World Class" because of the opponents he has faced (which haven't been all that good) then Nathan Cleverly is also "World Class" in that estimation.....more so.....as he is still undefeated as well.

I'm going to watch the footy now, so I'll check back later.

Not at this juncture mate, but if he keeps up his good, improved attitude and willingness to step up in class, there's no reason he can't become a legitimate contender at least.
The Panther might be done, but that was a good step up for him and he seems to be willing to go in the right direction and has dropped that silly scally persona that was letting him down badly.
I like Bellew a lot,but I'll always be honest whether it's kind or not.

another quote from the comedic god of nathan cleverly

"Cleverly who has won all 24 fights said: "It was going great in the UK but there were no other challenges left after I wiped the floor with Bellew."

i've not watched the fight in a while but i dont think remember the fight been quite the 'shut out that cleverly is making out
