According to BILD, it is possible that Fritz Sdunek becomes the replacement for the deceased trainer-legend Emanuel Steward. Sdunek was at the latest press conference and Wladimir himself said on monday " I started my pro career in Hamburg in 1996. With Fritz Sdunek, who sits right there [in the crowd]". When Sdunek was asked about it, he said that he would like it. http://www.bild.de/sport/mehr-sport/wladimir-klitschko/zurueck-zu-trainer-sdunek-27065490.bild.html http://www.focus.de/sport/boxen/box...ckkehr-zu-klitschko-nicht-aus_aid_855125.html
If he will back with Sdunek no problem for me, it is a problem for Wlad. I I where Wlad I would retired after Wach with the good memories of Emanuel Steward. I have sold my tickets which i bought for Wach. I do not want to go to the fight because of Emanuel´s death. It is the last fight I will watch on TV if Sdunek ever will be in the corner again. I do not care about it anymore.
Doesn't matter who his trainer is. His career is pretty much ****'d without Steward. You're going to see a slow but steady decline over the next couple of years, which will eventually culminate with an embarrassing & gutwrenchingly savage KO1 loss to Deontay Wilder approximately around fall 2014. Mark my words. And remember, you heard it here first. :yep *Thread bookmarked for future PWNage
To be fair it would be foolish to think Sdunek hasn't learned from what happened to Wlad under Steward. I'm sure he's smart enough to see that the Steward model worked wonders, and to continue with it. Also Wlad isn't going to be told to go all guns blazing from round 1 if he doesn't think it's a smart idea One significant thing with Manny passing is that Wlad is going to get less exposure in the US from now on. Having a regular HBO commentator for a trainer wasn't a bad way to keep his profile up while his fights weren't being aired on HBO
Does Wlad really need a trainer at this stage in his career to give him game plans etc? I'm not sure he does, just a few pointers here and there. Whoever he employs isn't going to change him into a slugger.
