They stip Daniel Geale for opting to avange his lone loss to one time WBA investor Anthony Mundine and santion a fight between Martin Murray and a 12 fight novice? Note that neither fighter are ranked WBA #1 or #2 :huh

Only a few days after stripping Geale they are santioning a fight for the interim title with 2 fighter not in the top 3, the WBA are laughable. :patsch:patsch:patsch

Nothing new from the corrupt WBA....all they are after is sanctioning fees, with 2 WBA Interim Title Fights on the 1 bill Nov 24th, i expect Ricky Hatton to be ranked 1 in the WBA at Welterweight when the December rankings come out.:good

In the UK the promoters certainly seem to favour one particular sanctioning body:

    Frank *arren - WBO
    Eddie Hearn - IBF
    Hatton Promotions - WBA

Once you work with a particular company/organisation, you become familiar with them and you're more likely to do business in the future. That's what this is. Its just business which unfortunately is what this game seems to be about these days.

Frank War*en pretty much made the WBO a legit santioning body thoughout the late 80's and early 90's with some of the fights he made.

Also the WBU titles were only really fought for in the UK i noticed. In Australia we have the WBF instead :yep

To quote T.C.W this is a joke. The WBA superchampion business is confusing as ****. They seem to favour the ones who get Superchamp status by racking up 10 title defenses for the WBA John,Sturm than ones that unify with other orgs Geale. **** the WBAnkers.

Never happen. The IBO do it but look at some of their championship bouts.

Amen, but it will never happen.

Boxing could learn a lot from the UFC in this regard.

One of the top 4 orgs (WBC, IBF, WBO & WBA) shoudl do a UFC style set up with cards only including their ranked fighters and each main being contested for a fully fledges title.

I think it would work or would be interesting at least. I could only imagine a person who has never watched boxing before viewing the last Barclays card from NY. They had a WBO title, a WBA title and a WBC title being contested on the same card. It would be like what's with all the different world champs? shouldnt they be fighting for the same thing? Confusing...

Yep and an Aussie turned down the opportunity to be in the opposite corner to Murray.

Yep, word on the street is that Robbie Bryant turned down the fight

Dont know why you would refuse such an offer. He had ample time to prepare and im assuming a big money offer compared to what he gets down under.

He has instead opted to fight Jarrod Fletcher for the PABA title :huh

No disrespect to Fleth, but the Murray fight would be huge and viewed all over the globe via boxnation.

    Maybe he knows his limitations.
