Oddschecker has Lara at -450, not -700.

Lara should be favored but I don't think it would be a huge upset if VM wins. I am going to put a small bet down on VM because I believe this to be like a 65/35 fight in favor of Lara, not what the odds have it.

He opened at -700. Check Fightnews for the official report on it.

It's been a few days, so those odds have come down a bit. Vanes have a good chance to upset Lara no doubt.

Forget the odds. I just want Lara to win impressively.

Vanes is awkward and skilled enough to be a threat, but I see Lara winning handily.

vanes has nothing on lara if he tries to box, lara is way way better, and i don't think he's capable of swarming lara and breaking him down with constant pressure cause he's been a pure boxer all his career. he showed balls stepping up to take this fight but it doesn't look good for him.

Lara's problem is he is not active enough. Lara will land the better counters but Vanes might just outwork him.

Is vanes that active himself? I just think vanes is so used to beinf the superior boxer in his fights, so used to being the more talented guy that when fights this truly great boxer lara and has to settle for being the less talented opponent for a change he wont be able to pull it off. Freddy hernandez has been that kind of fighter his whole career so he was able to at least go the distance and win some rds but vanes is not that kind of figher.

You know Hernandez is been campaigning 147-154 lbs since 2005-06, so he is not a career 140 pounder and he has loss only one by ko, he got caught by Berto cold and the ref stop the fight, still since the fifth round on his corner had the towel on their hands, ready to stop the fight, his face was a mess after the fight.

A Vanes win would not be surprising. In fact, I think he will pull it out.
