Golovkin and Tszyu comparison....

With saying Hurtado was his best win.

Miguel A Gonzalez was his best win.

Ive broken down his career compared to Aaron Pryors many times and Tszyu's career and resume far outweigh The Hawks.

Say what you will about Kostya Tszyu but I know for a fact statistically he has one of the best records against fighters with a win percentage.

In Tszyu's short but great career Opponents total wins was over 1100 with 150 Loses in total.
Compared to Pryors longer career with his opponents totals being 790 wins and 380 Loses.

He fought double the amount of World or Former World Champs than Pryor and he did all this away from home.

If you really look into Pryors career it is one of the most over rated resumes of all time.

Now I know as well as the next style make fights but his Opponents have the best win lose percentage of any other fighter in the last 30 years or so.

You can take that to the bank.

 

Gonzalez wasnt his best win. Gonzalez already lost against an old man Chavez and De La Hoya. An old broken down Chavez with just his chin left. Pryor's resume was overrated but he still made SRL scared.

He drew with Chavez Jr and lost a UD to Dela Hoya (Prime Oscar) and even Oscar couldnt stop him.

Tszyu stopped him in his hometown and still is the only man to.

Gonzalez had a awesome chin one of the best weve seen. Yet Tszyu stopped him.

You take away from his Judah win also which no one has even got close to stopping him like Tszyu did the closest was Amir Khan some 10 years later. Way past Zab's best.

Did you know out of Pryors top 10 opponents 8 of them retired from boxing within 2 years of Pryor fighting thats how past there Prime all of them were.

Out of Tszyu top 10 only Chavez retired within that time period.

You know nothing on Tszyu.
Took more risk for not much reward than any other fighter like I said in the last 30 years.

Yet all these so called Boxing fans only come back is he lost. Well fighters lose sometimes and it can be anyone any day this **** happens.

But I remember what he did to guys that other fighters could only dream of.

Will Golovkin have the same sort of career.

I hope so as Iam a fan. And the sport needs more guys like this.

So yes he does remind of Tszyu. Will fight anyone anywhere anytime and is not scared of losing. Has Power like Tszyu I can only hope he brings as much excitement as Kostya did as we need guys in the sport like this.

 

Tszyu is overrated on these forums. Good fighter but cmon.

Also I don't see a connection at all except both being eurasian

 

My old trainer Colin Jones at 143 would ko him or at 140. Gonzalez when he drew with old man Chavez, he lost that fight.

Hurtado, when he fought Whitaker was meant to be a easy tune-up but give Whitaker hell.

Hurtado was the only guy to legitimately beat Emmanuel Burton first.

Kosta vs Pryor would be a good fight without the cheating.

Gonzalez is just very durable with a better chin but he wasn't a better boxer.

 

they are both trained for the amatures and there style is pretty much the same..

 

Much as I like 3G,at this juncture Kostya is on a different level.He has a far better all round game and much better grasp of the fundamentals.
In a fantasy match up on Fight Night Kostya destroys him at this point.

 

1. They are both were born on the Asian side of USSR.
2. Both are Eurasian mix (Golovkin's mother is korean, father is Russian; Tszyu's father is Korean, mother is Russian).
3. Both had a superb amateur career.
4. Their style is pretty much the same, especially the way they throw punches. Also both have a great sense of balance. Both are great punchers and have great chins.
5. Both have learned to do an interview in English.
6. Golovkin, like Tszyu, has the personality of someone who will become extremely fan-friendly.
7. They even look and sound alike.

Kostya is atleast two levels about Golovkin.

If he stuck with his Russian trainers in the pros, who knows how far he could have gone. All due respect to Johnny but he was at best, a conditioning type trainer.

 

THe only comparison they have is they're russian and have East Asian ancestry and extremely powerful punchers.
