Was Victor Ortiz beating Ande Berthoe one of the best wins of the decade so far?

    By decade I mean from 2010 onwards, It has surely got to be up there I mean I don't rate Berto that highly but when you consider the circumstances leading up to the fight ie that Ortiz was coming into it having previously scraped a draw with Lamont Peterson and was forced into quitting against Marcos Maidana before that. Ortiz fighting his first fight at 147lb went 12 rounds with a physically bigger steroid riddled monster who was pumped full with a deadly concoction of PED's yet Ortiz still came out on top. It's just a shame his glass mind cracked against Mayweather :-(

    Well part of your post is nonsense.

    Ortiz was actually bigger in the ring than Berto,even though it was Ortiz was having his first fight at 147.

    It was however,MASSIVELY entertaining,and a great win for Ortiz

    Berto never beat who, who beat who, who beat hoe.

    But by the same logic - Maidana's is the best win of the decade.

    It was Ortiz who was moving up :deal 140lb fighter coming up to fight a natrual 147lb fighter.

    Its irrelevant.

    In the ring,on the night,Ortiz was the bigger fighter.

    He weighs in the 160s on fight night.

    Berto usually weighs 155-158

    That doesn't tell the whole story though. Just because on fight night, a guy comes into the ring a certain size does not necessarily mean his power will carry up into that division. Arcane definitely is correct that Ortiz deserves credit for taking his first fight @ 147 against one of the top guys in the division and putting a pasting on him from the opening bell.

    how many on here saw this as Oscar throwing Ortiz to the wolves after 2 or 3 fights ago said he was the next big thing

    He was sending Ortiz up in weight vs an undefeated champion coming off an early KO to me and others on ESB it was him being cashed out

    I think Oscar was even at a different fight that night ringside somewhere else

    Many picked ortiz to win, Including me, had ortiz by Points, where as many had ortiz by KO, it wasn't a shock. For Bookmakers maybe, because they gave some great odds (£2.50 return for every £1).

    Garcia vs Khan - has to be up there, above berto ortiz
