Who had the hardest Left hook ever? Whos number one?

That was over exaggerated by sports writers one by stander said Dempsey just hit him hard and you could see it hurt Galento theres a newspaper clipping somewhere Dempsey is my favourite fighter but this was exagerated and i do believe he had one of the best left hooks not the best but a damn good one

 

Gosh, too hard to say really. First thought was Tua, for sheer concussive force, but Cooney took guys out with bodyshots, and seemed to get huge wind up power with his long arms. Morrison's was the snappiest, and one of the most perfectly thrown. I'd say you couldn't go wrong picking any of those three.

Tyson's was fast and concussive but I think a little below the above fighters'. Shavers had a pretty good left hook actually, but didn't throw it enough or have the sorts of knockouts with it to rank him in the top tier. Likewise Wlad.

Ruddock's left was a mean shot, if that counts.

 

foreman had a "different" power, it was more of a "pushing" kind.

I don't know. I can't really remember any times Foreman seriously hurt an opponent with his left. I know he did, but I just can't picture specific instances at the moment. That makes comparisons difficult.

I will say that Tua certainly has better results with his left than Foreman. Cooney also. Morrison's left was devastating due to snap and picture perfect technique, but I suspect Foreman had more thudding power than the Duke.

I'd say both types would be effective against different opponents. A lighter more limber opponent would more likely have their lights put out by fast explosive shots that they couldn't roll with or react to, whilst a stockier fighter would more likely be done in by the heavy thudding type of punches.

That's just pure speculation really, based on observation and a bit of guesswork, though I definitely don't believe there's a linear scale for power.

I was looking at some Roach instructional videos the other day (bored as **** apparently).. fast forward to about 1:50 and watch an ****** Fortune throw a few hooks at the bag. I know he's not in the discussion, but just use this as a point of reference what an old, retired, fringe contender can do with a left hook...

The question is who had the hardest left hook....not ho used it best Joe Frazier used it best but the hardest i would say Tommy Morrison or David Tua, they just killed guys with their left hooks.
