Yeah he looked quite panicked during the break, but I was more worried for him in the later stages for him punching himself out.
That was the only good punch Wach landed. And it was a solid punch. One wonders what might have happened had the round been a little longer. Oh well, Wlad had too much experience and skill for Wach cause he saw all his other power shots. Wach did try, but just doesnt have a large enough arsenal and speed for Wlad. I was kind of surprised that Wlad got on his bike in the last 3 rounds though. Steward would have kicked his ass for that.
once again we see that any flush shot has the potential to finish Wlad too bad that Wach couldn't follow up at all ... he missed almost everything when he had Klit on the ropes
You never said that. You said that any flush shot drops Wlad every time. Care to take back your words?
Not at all. When the punch first landed... as with any big punch in a boxing fight, I perked up and let out an "ohhh", but you could immediately tell that Wlad wasn't hurt or in a state of panic as some love to say. He handled it perfectly. He let Wach follow up while blocking/slipping everything that came his way. He couldn't have handled it any better. The round ended, he went back to his corner fine and seemed anxious to get back out and fight. As soon as the next round started he went right back to work looking just as crisp as he had looked the entire fight.
He got hit with a good right hand, I thought he took it well and he rode out the storm much better than anytime before. Next round he came out and regained control.
If anything... I think that people just get shocked when Wlad actually gets hit with a flush shot. People have hyped up his imaginary glass chin so much that everyone just expects him to fall or something. Yet, he has shown time and time again over the last 7 years that he can take a punch just fine, and it's all bull****.
Yes, I kinda was.. But i quickly realised how much Wlad has improved since his defeat to Corrie Sanders, instead of freezing and looking like a deer in the headlights, he tucked in and did what he had to do to survive, then he came out in the following round and kept dominating.
Exactly. Most of those shots Wach threw after the initial one did not land. That was apparent in the slow mo replay.
It's a bit like how everyone gets excited when someone lands a decent punch on Mayweather. A rare occurrence.
He parried and slipped at least 3 or 4 punches against the ropes then circled out and regained some space. He was composed and clear headed or he wouldn't have been capable of those things, it was a good shot but Vova took it fine and remained clam. It's really a case of fans being shocked any time a clean shot does manage to land since it so rarely happens.
