which one is better: Donaire-Mares or Donaire-Rigo?

I'm fine with either fight. The only reason why I would pressure Donaire to fight Rigo is because they are both under Top Rank and aren't exactly young guys. If Arum isn't going to work with GBP for any big fights then there's no excuse for not making Donaire-Rigo. But who knows, maybe Rigo loses in December which will obviously change the landscape.

 

We all know that Mares won't be fighting Donaire as aggressive as he did tonight..... if he does he will also be doing the Montiel shake. Donaire-Mares however will still be a more entertaining fight.

HBO would definitely buy this fight.

 

HBO would definitely buy both. They've had no problem footing the bill for Donaire's last few boring mismatches.

 

One fight is easier to make being that Rigo and Donaire are both TR.

That said, Arum told Mares to wait until 2013, when his contract is up with GBP. So its very possible we'll see them go at it in 2013.

 

Mares' contract isn't up until 2014.

Mares' own manager said their contract is through 2014 on the Scene.

 

You can bet your money Donaire/Arce will be a better fight(better matchup is another story)

 

The same twisted logic has been used to justify most of Donaire's recent opponents, yet those fights seem to nevertheless elicit boos fairly regularly. I'm at the point where a good fight is a good match-up unless there's reason to believe both guys involved are never going to fail to be exciting.

 

Donaire and Rachel still don't have children so they better make babies before Donaire fights Mares.
