Garcia showed up -- Lara didn't. (Martirosyan, either.)

Hell, Barros was more impressive than either one of the Junior-Middleweights.

i was all hyped up for this fight. I can see why Canelo wasn't interested in these guys.

Disappointed Lara decided to pick it up later into the fight. I think we would of had a nice scrap for the second half of the fight actually. Lara was landing more and Vanes looked frustrated.

Lara had respect for Vanes and started timing him in the later rounds. It wasn't all-out actions, but it wasn't a bad fight.

Hard fight to score. Lara seemed happy to box with 1 shot at a time

    disapointing performance.

the thing i don't like about his style is that he only wants to do "just enough" to out-point you, but doesn't want to go the extra mile to dominate you when he has the tools to do so.
he did the same with Paul Williams, maybe that has something to do with him getting bad decisions.

They'll do it again. Lara should win convincingly now that he knows how to time Vanes. But am a bit disappointed in Lara due to his inactivity in the ring at times. He also tends to throw too much of his straight left. Still a fan though and while he may not take over the division so easily he will always be a tough match for anyone. I still think Canelo avoided him not because Lara is super special but because he is tough to beat. Even if Canelo won he would look bad.

They will rematch -- but that's the problem.

Lara is suppose to be stepping competition NOW. Not getting log-jammed how he's seemingly so content to do so.

Oh, how about the pathetic post-fight interview -- absolutely no class from Lara.

The translator didn't say it but "pendejo" came out of Lara's mouth. ;)

Canelo Kills LARA, Vanes much More competitive because of styles, Lara is to patient and Canelo would eat him up with body shots and smart pressure as was Vanes doing.. except lara can impose his size more then Vanes, Vanes would make it a harder fight with reach, and heigh and OUTPUT... Lara needs to up his output its emberassing.

To Laras credit he was doing better in the later rounds, but who knows what would have happened.

Draw was a good decision even though I thought Vanes won by a Point... but that last rounds is a Draw, and I can see it more of a draw then a win for either.

I'm ecstatic it went to a draw -- neither man deserved a "W."

Nothing is interesting about this Cuban boxer. He's boring and dirty and overrated.

Man, Lara is a dirty fighter. Hard to look good against a so negative safety first fighter who fights dirty and spoils when the fight is not going in his way.

Vanes didn't do too bad considering what he had to face. He could have maybe let his hands go more especially nice body shots.

The only way I could see someone beating Lara comfortably is a pressure fighter with a good chin and heavy hands pounding his body non-stop exactly the way Mares fought tonight against Moreno. A junior middleweight Mares would beat Lara pretty easily.

You beat Lara by Smart Pressure like Molina and Vanes troubled him, , Look how volume not in a SMART way worked out for Hernandez and PWILL small success but they have part of it corect. Mares is a good example but it must be smart pressure, not wreckless like Freddy hernandez even though he troubled LARA too.. styles make fights and CANELO beats LARA, Vanes style would trouble Canelo a bit more... Lara is made to order for Canelo you can't chill in the ropes, and keep running CANELO kills you with body work and smart pressure.

But yes Pressure is the key and a bit more output and it would have not been a close fight.
