Lara probably should have fought a junior welter or someone past the age of 38 if he really wanted to shine tonight.

Man stop for real. Moreno was pulling his head down to maybe protect himself from clash of heads because mares many times was leaning with his head? Al who is one of the best unbiased commentators even said mares was leaning with his head a whole lot. I like mares because he is a warrior but dont sit there and tell me mares isnt a dirty fighter because he is.

Lara was lucky Vanes wasn't throwing uppercuts, this fight would of been less close. Instead of some of those straight rights he should of thrown some right uppercuts,

 

I think Lara would have started taking more risks. After figuring out the straight left, he threw it to the body again and even doubled it up. I think he would have started putting the right behind it like he did at times against Williams. Backing up Vanes was definitely the right thing to do. In a rematch I think Lara will be more confident and composed.

I actually think Lara would have done well to throw uppercuts. After every jab, Vanes would anticipate the left and duck down low, perfect angle for an uppercut to land.
