Some fighters are better at hiding their dirty tactics. Mares isnt there to hug and hold and let you push or hold his head down. Its not illegal to come in with the head, throw a ****in uppercut if you dont like it, dont hold his head. Mares will fight clean so as long as his opponent does too. Its a fight in there and you cant let urself be bullied. Look at what Lara accomplished, that dirty ***** threw a nasty INTENTIONAL headbutt, got a draw and is all smiles. Its one thing to lead with ur head, chin tucked but to actually lunge with your head with the intention of cutting them is sick. Just because you dont know **** about boxing and the dirty **** MANY fighters do, dont hate on a true champion like Mares. This dude is the real deal and boxing needs more guys like him.

he might not be the most skilled but based from his resume and accomplishments, he certainly deserves to be up there. fights anyone and has already an incredible set of opponents and wins. besides, before the fight, people were ranking moreno in their top 10 already.

He belongs in the top 10. He is a bit dirty, but his skills are unquestionable. He's an elite pressure boxer-puncher.

Segura was the former #10 in that list and Viloria beat the hell out of him.

So how many times u j4rk off watching mares fights? lol for real you a s4ck up to him. Mares is a warrior but he is a dirty fighter. Did you even watch his first fight vs agbeko? Man not even hopkins fought sooo dirty the way mares did. How many freaking god damn low blows did mares land on agbeko? That was disgraceful in which the ref should been banned from ever ref again.

In my mind he was a top ten before the fight with Moreno. I had discussion with some good posters who was more deserving to be top ten him or Moreno and they made good points for Moreno. I accepted that but after that fight there is no doubt that Mares is top ten and ring is going to announce it next week.

It's weird that Donaire is at the top of the P4P lists yet Mares apparently cant even crack it

Darchynian, Agbeko x2, Perez, Morel, Moreno, all top fighters, all victories one after another, yet he isn't P4P worthy?

Donaire's only recent big win is Nishioka, he's basically in the P4P lists for a couple of KOs that happened ages ago

Both Donaire and Mares should be on any respectable P4P list, although Donaire deserves to be higher for me. He's cracked more weight classes and has elite stoppage wins over Darch, Montiel and Nishioka, aswell as other great wins over Vasquez Jr, Mathebula, Narvaez, Marquez, Mthlane, Syderenko, Martinez etc. He has a very long resume for someone who's only had 30 or so fights.

Mares is awesome aswell though, and was probably #10 on my list even before last night. The top 7 are pretty much set in stone, but #8, 9 or 10 is an appropriate ranking for Mares imo. Carl Froch just edges him for me at the moment.
