So why did you post that Lara hasn't fought better competition than Alvarez when in fact he has? Also, Alvarez's trainer confirmed they turned down the Mayweather fight once already.

What is it with Cuban fighters, aside from Gamboa of course, having terrible hooks?

My vcash is a disgrace after last night and Lara did the most damage.Haven 't seen the fight yet but I get the feeling Lara thinks he can dine out for the rest of his career on the Williams fight.

Funny people. Keep up the good work. Lara is too inactive. He threw and landed more than Vanes. This is what true boxers do. They frustrate the opponent by making him miss a lot. When the opponent gets anxious and overaggressive, that's when his mistakes are really capitalized on. Both guys were cautious because of what the fight meant. Everybody is not going to fight in a phone booth. It's called boxing, not fighting. There was not one round where Lara did not land more. Maybe for the sake of the fans, he should throw the game plan out the window and take unnecessary punches.

Like Molina did, except for the part that Molina can't hurt anyone.

You're talking as if Lara put on a Mayweather performance.

NO. He ran and ran and made it a non-fight.

Vanes was trying to actually throw some punches and push the fight.

Lara ****ed up an opportunity to really show some class here.

He is just not that good at the pro level. Molina and Vanes are not exactly the elite and he struggled badly with both.

If you say so. Outpunched and outlanded Vanes. In every round he outlanded him. I get it. When Martinez does it to Chavez Jr. it's fine, but when a Cuban does it, there's a problem with it. Maybe Roach should teach his guys how to cut off the ring. Anyway, it's your opinion.

Are you saying compubox should be the basis of scoring fights?

Not at all. Effective aggression, not just aggression, ring generalship and clean punches should be the basis of scoring a fight.

Read it. And i assure you that i have no bias against cubans. I love Gamboa, Rigondeaux, Lara. Excellent technique and they bring a lot to boxing.

I just felt like Lara ruined what should have been a watershed moment for him.

Obviously you see things that i didn't.

I will say that he was coming on strong in that last round so i would have been interested to see how 10, 11, 12 went.

If Lara really wanted a fight with Canelo, he sure as Sugar Nicolai Valuev didn't fight like it last night. That's a fight he needed to look great in, and even though I had him winning narrowly, it was a disappointing performance.

He should've outclassed Vanes and instead, fought a dirty, boring fight. That's not going to get him a Canelo fight and you all know it.

This was his chance to make a statement. And the statement he made is one that PPV buying boxing fans aren't going to want to sign up for.
