Annoying that they keep calling Condit "the champ":lol:

GSP's Muay Thai guy at the end looked pretty rugged... I don't really follow it maybe Boran or a different MT expert could shed some light on who he is and if he's as legit as the show was making out?

I have no ****ing idea who wins this fight, which is a big reason why it's one of the two or three most anticipated fights of the year for me. :smoke

One thing that we can be sure is that GSP will take Condit down. one thing in favor of GSP is how good he is to keep top control and get good positioning.

The only thing I really wonder is what version of GSP will show up.

We know GSP has good standup skill, but in his 3 or 4 previous fight he, at least IMO, showed poor stand up skill. Good jab vs Kosheck, he was awful to watch against Shields and he didn't seems to want to trade against Hardy. TBH I don't really remember the fight against Alves I need to rewatch it, so I won't comment it.

I could shake you like a baby.....

What is this? 2nd big fight in a row and no pick, oh you ****ing tease

I think in his last few defenses we saw him do what he does best which is use all his tools:deal and shut down his opponents in the process. I will have to dig these fights up because I just remember Kos getting circled and punched in the face, Shields recieving a gnarly spinning back kick, and Hardy getting bitchslapped. I remember UFC 100 pretty well, and GSP was able to take Alves down at will.

But, I don't see him winning that type of fight (UFC 100) against Carlos Condit. GSP is not ready for a FIGHT so he better do some damage if he scores a takedown, make sure that if CC rises it's a little slower each time. GSP cannot play the 1-2 game in there, he needs to change levels and make it a lot easier on himself. Winning a 5 round decision is highly unlikely, but I know a few people that tend to agree with most of you.

I'm not disagreeing with anything you are saying there, but you can't argue that if you compare performance like GSP VS Hugh 2 with GSP VS Kosheck/Hardy/Shields/Alves it's far from being the same type of performance.

By saying that I'm not trying to diminish his victory but I always thought something was weird.

With Kosheck he was doing the right thing, he was circling and jabbing but he never opened with combo. From what I remember at one point in the 4th if he had used some combo Kosheck would have lost by TKO but he never took the chance.

Against Hardy I remember a lot of takedown, using top control, the failed armbar and kimura but he didn't really seem willing to engage on the feet.

Same with Alves, and Shields well by round 2 one eye was missing, he threw alot of huge overhand right, some kick and stop all the takedown.

I've got to admit I probably need to rewatch all those fight, but from what I rememebr it look like that !

    CC it's completly different.

I've never really seen him in real danger against anyone.

I've scored the fight against Kampmann for Condit (my Criteria) but I see how the UFC judge scored it for Martin.

Other then that the MacDonald fight was close, I had it even going into the third round but I can see how both round could have been scored for Rory.

But GSP is really good at maintaining top control and not putting himself into bad position.

I've got to admit it's a tough fight to call !

Yeah, **** yeah Ne5 your right. Koscheck looked like some kind of zombie following GSP's jab around the ring. On second thought I believe he was thinking about holding onto his belt rather than eliminating contenders. Very little risks, you know.

Top control is #'n ace. I can't really recall the fights you mentioned from CC. One thing I do know is that his footwork can give GSP trouble.

The Diaz Brothers want to trade, but GSP will drop your ass:deal I don't know, but I feel like GSP is gonna have to win this on heart because it's not easy coming off knee surgery.

GSP is clearly a better fighter than CC. Put a gun to my head and I'll say it's St-Pierre by decision.

But how can you confidently pick a guy who has been out of the cage for 18 months after a SERIOUS injury, and who is returning against the top guy in the division with no warmup fight?

CC is an intelligent fighter who knows how to work a gameplan. He rose to the occasion when he was the underdog against Diaz, and fought an extremely disciplined 5 round fight. Obviously this is the biggest fight of his life and he is not a limited guy, he is a legit challenge for GSP even without the injury and rust. :nono

Put a gun to my head, I'll pick GSP. But if I'm betting $100, I bet on Condit. :bart

So many people picking GSP, this is making me sick.

I've never been more certain about an outcome in my life. We don't have to avy bet, I'll leave this Section for 3 months if my man CC does not win :bbb

And I think the exact same thing. This fight is going to be won with the guy with the most heart, and that IS NOT GSP.

In the Alves fight with the groin stuff he manage to pull it out but against Shields he wanted out bu round 3 because of the eye and it was Gregy that manage to keep GSP in the fight, at least IMO.

    So better stand up CC
    Better TDD GSP,
    Better TD GSP
    Better top control GSP
    Better Jit I'll say CC
    Most Heart CC

    Though fight to call...

Article in this weekends paper(The Toronto Star) says there are plenty of seats available for the Montreal fight.White says perhaps he over priced the seats. You think?
Also says the PPV' buy rates are a way down than in the past.UFC becoming a niche sport and over saturation has killed the golden goose.
    Can anyone say "WWE"?

I honestly think GSP is going to smash through Condit and make a huge statement.

It will be interesting but GSP would not fight if he wasn't positive he was 100% ready.
