Good idea Beast, heres my thoughts

* Someone else would have to be in charge of doing the rankings and point system for it. I would bump it with everything else, but I wouldnt have the time to do the rankings and points myself.

* I would have to find out a way to balance it out.
Right now, I like that anyone can get a shot at just about any time. That the champ will only be as strong as his weakest pick, meaning anyone who thinks he makes a weak pick at any time (unless you just challenged the week before) can call him on it.

* One of the reasons I kept the title around was I liked that it was something everyone in the league could do if they wanted to, at any given week. You didnt have to pick on every fight, you didnt have to have as many fights as the next guy, ect, ect. You just see a pick you think the champ has wrong and you have right, and challenge him to it. I like that premise. Right now we have only our core group posting, but once the new year hits and we are in stride, there will be 30 people outside of the top 10's. The Title gives people who arent near the top picks (often times due to not picking on every fight because they might not know a lot of the names) a chance to get in on the action.


So, with that being said..... I still think its a good idea :think

Im thinking, what about this. :think

Lets say you win the title.

1st Defense - Weakest Link : anyone has a chance to bring him down in his 1st defense.
2nd Defense - Mandatory : The top member with the best pick record from the week before (the week before being when hes defending it in the weakest link)
3rd Defense - Voluntary : Champ can choose who he defends his title against as long as its in the top 10 of the regular, official rankings (12, with champ and challenger included)

OOOORRRRR

This idea might not be as popular..... but just throwing ideas around.

We could come up with a seperate belt, who has entirely its own rankings every week, those rankings do not reflect the year but only the weeks picks from the week before. Every week the guy who did the best the week before gets to challenge the champion (We would come up with a name for the title)

We would then have 3 titles

- Yearly/Regular Champion
- Peoples Champion (Maybe get a different name for it? idk)
- And we could come up with a name for the new belt.



EVERYONE let me know what your thoughts are on these.....

* You want to mix it up a bit? 1 : weakest link, 2 : mandatory, 3 : volutnary, then start back over again... so 1,2,3 1,2,3, ect.
* You want to create a new league belt, which will have its own rankings every week.

The good thing about creating a new belt is *No sanctioning fees, *gives more oppurtunities to win belts in a completely different manner then the other two * A new challenging way to try to hold a League title.


If you are a league member, I want your opinion on this :good

Right now, I like the idea to the point where I will be doing it, I just want to know in what form people want it. To change up the current peoples championship, or to create a new title that follows the new system.

For me myself, Im leaning on creating a new league title for it. There would be 3 League Titles, each different, and each meaningful.

I agree...

We could then do away with having one of the defences be a 'weakest link' type pick. And go to strictly mandatory and voluntary defenses of the new title.

I actually think it could work though.

1st Defense - Voluntary (this will give the recordkeeper a chance to organise the picks/points for the champions 2nd defense)
2nd Defense - Mandatory (this will be the person who was ranked number 1 in points from the previous week/day, if for whatever reason number 1 cant get the shot (no differing picks), the next ranked member will get the shot)
3rd Defense - Mandatory

Then redo in that order.

 

What we will need

* Someone to do the new point system and rankings
* A new banner for the new title (I can try to do this on my computers paint editor maybe )
* A name for the new title

And the first members to face off for it.

Im thinking

BeastSideBoxing vs our current League Champion, can determine the first champion for the new title.
