Byrd was a much better fighter than Haye. Not at all the kind of guy to threaten Wlad given his size and lack of real power, but he was definitely better. Chagaev was probably better, too, though not at the time Wlad fought him.

Anyway, the answer is no. There have been 3 Heavyweight elites in the past decade or so, and Wlad, obviously, hasn't fought the other 2.

If we were to take these guys back 10 - 15 years, here is your answer

    haye - outside chance
    chagaev - no
    thompson 1 - **** no
    ibragimov - no
    brock - no
    byrd 2 - borderline
    peter 1 - no
    mccline - **** no
    byrd 1 - yes

    povetkin - no chance
pulev - too early to tell
price - too early to tell
    fury - no chance

Elite opponents for me make the fights interesting and have at least a chance of pulling an upset, it can become really scewed if you judge a relatively average fighter like Povetkin elite just because hes 10 years younger and in a weaker era... **** that, guys like Povetkin are not elite in any era including this one., world class yes but dont stretch it.

Maybe Wlad's oppositon isn't exactly ATG level, but there's plenty of good fighters and he has dominated the living hell out of them. The top contenders are so certain they have no chance they refuse to fight him. And for good reason, anyone who saw how he moves and jabs in the Wach fight saw an ATG.

I agree, and the same can be said of Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes and several other top ATG 15 heavys.

If elite means cruserweight from 50 years ago then no.

He KOed some fighters from 90s era. He beat Rahman, Botha and Mercer.
10-15 years ago Wladimir was not prime though.

Razor Ruddock > Anything on Wlad's **** poor resume

Because the 38 year olds he loses too are far superior

And not to mention that the best win on his resume is a crusier

Wlad's collection of victories over bums, geriatrics, and obese slobs must really get your panties wet

thats fair enough, but he beat those fighter when they were way past prime. I dont hate Wladimir, in fact he's a very likable character but some of the fanatical things im reading on these boards are a tad to much dont you think?

And neither were these guys in their "primes" when Wlad got to them

Rahman was 37, Mercer was around 40 and Botha had never recovered from the Tyson and Lewis beatings

    what a dumb post.
Ruddock was garbage, who didn't even know boxing fundamentals. I looked at his fights and when he throws a left his right is at his waist and his chin is in the air. I think most top 10 fighters today would KO him, unless he lands a lucky punch.
The rest of the things you wrote are to dumb and subjective.

That's an impressive feat: he hasn't allowed anyone to get to the point where they can be called "a hell of a fighter." He beats people and ruins them in the process the vast majority of the time.

    Your a stupid mofo

Ruddock was being ducked by everyone when Tyson fought him and would scramble Wlads brain within 2 rounds. He had far more skill and talent than an obese Sam Peter who is probably the best win on Wlads resume ... and he still got pounded by him and knocked down three times

Go back to faping to Wlad getting KTFO
