Only seen the last 2 rounds in all honesty, Regardless he looked terrible technically and this is coming from a welshman!

JMP's pointed this out in the thread already, but Hopkins is still very good defensively. His offense isn't even half as good as it used to be, but if he has a guy walking into his range all night, he'll be able to get counters off just fine. As long as he doesn't have to work to find the range and set up his own offense, B-Hop can still do good quality stuff in a fight. He needs a guy to come after him, but in a fairly basic way and not in too much of a hurry. Cleverly should fit the bill. Hopkins UD (then retirement, hopefully).

Cleverly isn't that great, however I think his work rate is too high for Hopkins to slow down to make this fight winnable, Cleverly doesn't exactly have the worst technique in the world.

I think Clevs workrate will outhustle B-Hop in a close one but man if he somehow loses to an ancient B-Hop he's done for!! No one will take him seriously losing to a near 50 year old. Team Clev might have dug a hoile here where he gets little credit for a sloppy win over an old man or gets completely ruined by a loss and back to jolly ole england fighting cans again for the rest of his life.

I've been saying for a while Cleverly might beat Hopkins because of his work rate. However I was just thinking about it today and I thought surely even at Hopkins age you still need more than work rate to beat him.

Let's be honest Cleverly isn't anything special, IMO anyway.

I hope Hopkins finds a way but that age looks like it has gotten to him and made him a mere mortal again. I hope he proves me wrong.

That is a joke right (?), Cleverly has a nice style but there wasn't nothing special in there. It's Hopkins fighting against Father Time still and that's finally it!

He will pick him apart worse than Pavlik do you see how wide he throws his punches . Cleverly is not as sound as Dawson or even as explosive as Pascal.

Loyal fans are putting doubts on his offense and say that he is offensively shot. I believe this fight B'Nard can pick up and dictate the pace and once Cleverly is in that tight matrix, B'Nard will play offense at will. I still believe he's really after Calzaghe so the fight deal must have Joe Calzaghe in the thin lines, something like B'Nard wins against Clerverly, Joe must give B'Nard a rematch even if it is in Wales.

If this mirrors anything like the Pavlik fight expect Hopkins too have very good punch stats .Hopkins picks up the offense depending on who is in front of him.

I'm not so sure that Joe would give him a rematch ,I honestly believe that he will protect his 0 at all costs .
