Skelton isn't a bad option, if it was any other British Heavyweight title defense nobody would complain. There is no point Pricey rushing and trying to fight one of the brothers now, he could take another 3 years to get to that level and at 32 win a world title which would give him a while to defend the title.

It will make me laugh if Skelton applies the pressure mauls him on the ropes and checks the chin of Price.. Could happen Skelton does spoil abit..

He will learn nothing from fighting Skelton. Not even a step up in class to what he's fought for before.

Just another fight for Maloney to make money out of scousers who actually think this **** is worth paying for

Matt is more aware than anyone of his age and limitations. As has already been said he can spoil and ruff house a bit. I'm not saying he's gotta chance at winning, but I reckon he can make it a little uncomfortable for a spell or two. IMO he's got too much fight experience to wade in there and get caught cold in the first couple of rounds like many are predicting.

    To win the belt outright!

If price does get wobbled by Skelton, a lot of people will turn on him and start calling him a glass jawed joke.

That's why the fight makes no sense, low risk but no reward

To win the title outright and because Skelton agreed to be Audley's sub incase he dropped out provided he got a shot at price after, its a short notice fight only 6 weeks after his last give the guy a break he will spread his wings next year.

How many more fights does Price have to win the belt outright?.

Cheers :good. I don't see anyone clammering to face him for title i think he's going to have to hold the title while going on international duty.

Hope Whyte or someone like Chisora can come back into mix otherwise i see the title not changing hands to quickly. I'm fine with him wanting to win it outright but he can't afford to sit around waiting on likes of Towers he'd be best fighting the rest of the world and having a defence in between when someone is willing and able.

It's not the best fight. If this was the Skelton of 3 or 4 years ago you could say this is a half decent learning fight. Skelton's one of the roughest, most awkward (and previously tough) heavies going. Put in a decent shift with Chagaev and had his ups and downs.

Problem is I'm not convinced he's even durable anymore.

I agree, after the Audley fight he said he would like to win the belt outright but if he gets a better opportunity he'll take it.
