i think he will cash out, just not yet when there are still big paydays to be had, imo if he was a bit more sensible hed try and accomplish something like win the lonsdale outright, grab the euro strap then go for the big fights, because then at least hes proven at a level that he can fall back on if he changes his mind, if he fights fury again in an eliminator for example and loses then theres nowhere else for him to go and earn money if you get my drift

Retiring in boxing these days is more like a year off...so they can bill the next fight as the "comeback from retirement"

If you want to talk like that then technically David Haye retired a man that Vitali couldn't even finish. Thanks for the set up though, always appreciated.

Retiring to duck Price? Its a fight that kind of has to be made with the BN connection. So retire let Price get to world class and pick up the Lonsdale after.

Call me a cynic but I can't help but feel that the fact that Haye is in the jungle and receiving shed loads of big time exposure (far more than when he boxed if truth be told) has something to do with this announcement.

I don't believe much that I read in the 'media' nowadays, just about all of it is planned as part of a strategy to maximise exposure and income.

I don't believe for one second that Chisora is retiring.

Regardless of debates over his ability he is a 'name' and he has managed to do something that few boxers achieve in the modern domestic game, his name has transcended the sport (albeit mostly for the wrong reasons).

There are still some massively lucative paydays out there for him.

A fight against Price would definitely generate interest.

A rematch with Fury may even be a possibilty.

And although he lost quite convincingly against Haye, we all know styles make fights and a match-up against Wladimir would almost certainly make money because of the 'history'.

No way is this the last we see of Chisora in a ring.

This is all the work of publicists.:good

there is defo money to be made by Chisora as an oppenent, as someone who went 12 rounds wit Klit so challenger will fight him to compare what they performance is like compared to Klitschko(who can spell there name from memory) i.e if Price stopped him then he would probably jump ahead of Fury and its easier to sell because then he stopped a man Klitschko couldnt

Don't know how long it will last, but if this is true, it may be a smart choice. People are talking about money running out. With just a million, I would never have to work again, and be able to enjoy a very comfortable lifestyle. Nice apartment, nice car, 2 holidays a year, and eating out everyday if I wanted to. People always say a million aint what it used to be. Well, it's still enough to retire on and live a better lifestyle than 99% of people. Easily. Unless you have **** money management and want to buy mansions with 100 bedrooms, and 25 Ferraris, you will be fine.

I believe Derek Chisora must have made enough from boxing to retire if he wants to.
