seriously , lennox fans are always talking about how " this era sucks " as if lewis fought in the golden age of boxing , let's examine the 90's :

-fossils from the 70's and early 80's were still in contention for the title ( Tony Tucker , george foreman :patsch )
-bruce seldon was a world champion
-frank bruno was a world champion
-françois botha was a world champion
-the scary light heavyweight Michael Moorer was a multiple times world champion
-Shannon Briggs was the man to beat for the lineal title :rofl

and even in that weak era, lennox managed to get KTFO'd twice by limited / one-trick ponied opponents when he was regarded as the number 1 heavyweight in the world and held major titles .

other than limited opponents and two washed up names , who did he beat ?

    >>>>TKO 6 was his best win , and it's the only reason he should be ranked " slightly " above wlad .

Wlad is not retired yet, it's hard to rate his resume right now

Funny that you should belittle Shannon Briggs as Vitali saw fit to give his corpse a title shot, more than 12 years after Lewis fought him.

Botha in his prime was a solid fighter,as was Frank Bruno. Id rate them ahead of nearly all the contenders in the current division.

Lewis has at least 3 HOF fighters on his resume.

It was just TKO 6, how about his win over Holyfield(arguably 2)?

Destroying quality fighters like Golota and Ruddock?

Oh well it doesn't affect Lewis his spot at all.
    Still got him at 1.

Aye, if you took Lennox's top three heavyweight victories away, he has a similar level of resume to Volo. Also, if you take away Ali's comeback career and remove his wins over Liston and Patterson up to that point, you can argue that Volo is in the same league, achievement-wise. While we're at it, if you remove all the HW champions top ten-twenty wins, they're all pretty much in the same boat, as far as resume and achievement are concerned, except maybe Louis.

Surely you aren't including Mike Tyson in this group, right? The same guy you don't even consider good in his 1980s incarnation. What the **** do you think he was in 2002? :-(
