Did Froch lose this fight? I'm finding it so difficult to score and keep watching the rounds again and again. I've decided I'd have to score it draw but with Dirrell losing a point I've scored it 114-113 in favour of Froch.

fights like this...however they are scored are basically draws in essence. What I mean by that is it's impossible to say either side was superior in the fight...scoring exists to indicate who the superior person was when there is no stoppage...can anyone honestly say either one was superior? They were both awesome on the night. In other fights both sides are so-so or even both suck. In the "old" days there were many more draws and for good reason, I'd like to see that be the case again.

I salute you for managing to get through a rewatch without killing yourself:clap:

American pundits and journalists who don't like to give Froch always bang on about this fight.

Froch won, it was very close and scrappy but Froch deserved it, Dirrell didn't.

Ignore what the bias American commentators say when you watch on Youtube, watch it with the sound off and you'll see what I mean.

For the whole fight all Dirrell did was run away and hold which made it crap to watch. Froch was the one landing the big, eye catching shots.

Dirrell is like Andre Ward; talented, slick and difficult to hit but his style is boring and that's why he has no fans (at least none who'll pay to see him fight).

Froch has improved a lot since and Dirrell has been virtually inactive, Carl would probably KO him in a rematch. Wouldn't seeing Dirrell face Groves or DeGale though.

How many times did you actually watch it? "watching the rounds again and again"

It was bad enough having to watch it on the night. Thought Dirrell nicked it and don't have any intention of ever rewatching it.

I've watched it twice and seen it by a round or so for a different guy each time.

Dirrell proved when he didn't fight like a chicken **** for the last 4 or so rounds that Carl was out of his depth against him and he even had Carl backing up in the last couple off rounds Dirrell only has himself to blame for losing that fight.

The judges that night decided that hitting fresh air scored points.

Luckily for Froch that's exactly what he did in this fight and he got the decision.

I remember scoring it 114-113 Dirrell, I however thought Dirrell should have been disqualified before the Championship rounds for his excessive holding and at the very least should have had another few points taken off, so I can't complain with a Froch win.

I agree with this totally. When scoring fights I tend to score 10/10's much more than most people. I round needs to be won not nicked or just given to. It ties in with the Americans and their inability to have a draw, someone has to win.

I regard to the OP, Dirrell robbed himself by fighting far too defensively. Had Froch by two points I think. Have not and will not re watch it.

    0-0.

Both were ****ing **** on the night.

Dirrell ought to have dominated, but Froch got in his head and by the time Dirrell had realised it was a winnable fight he was already too far behind.

thats what i thought Froch hardly hit him at all it was almost the exact same fight as Haye - Valuev where Haye ran all night a pot shotted but he was never hit so you cant lose a round if you dont get hit

Saw it live in the arena and thought Froch nicked it. Had the misfortune of watching it again on tape and had it 114-113 Froch. I'm not sitting through it again though, dreadful fight with Dirrell throwing himself on the floor, and Froch getting pissed off at the lack of action.
