Seth Mitchell vs Johnathan Banks

Banks is a good test for Mitchell but Mitchell should win here. He throws a lot of big punches and Banks doesn't have a great chin. Eventually, some of those big punches land and it's over for Banks. Mitchell by late ko.

 

Just a dose of reality, Wladimir lost to Ross Puritty at a near identical juncture of his pro career that Mitchell is at right now. Here is the interesting part, Wladimir failed to overcome the first part real adversity he had faced during his career yet Mitchell bit down hard on his gumshield and tore Witherspoon a new one in the following rounds after his bit of adversity. Did i mention Wladimir's extensive amatuer career on top of that compared to Mitchells lack of an amatuer career altogether. Going by your broken logic that surely makes Wladimir awful... terrible chin or not???? because surely fighters like Puritty shouldnt give you any trouble if you're a good fighter. Very hypocritical view of things you must have....

 

Hope Mitchell clinches the whole fight.

Agreed. I plan to watch it to see if Banks has anything left and if Mitchell can get through an experienced B Level fighter.

I wouldn't be surprised if Banks frustrates Mitchell for 12 rounds with experience and skill.

Mitchell could possibly get him out of there, but I think it will be in the late rounds...if he can do it at all.

Could come down to stamina for both guys.

 

Banks won't be able to keep Mitchell of him for more than 3 rounds, he is just entirely to small.

 

yeah the difference Wlad was able to mend his career based on the fact that he had great all around skills/amateur experience. Mitchell has NONE of that, Mitchell is a B-level fighter at best and will never achieve anything worth noting in his boxing career.. Mitchell didn't start boxing until he was what? 25, 26? Mitchell is garbage, I can't believe that people hype this guy.

 

Your stating opinion as fact??? Who has Wlad faced that proves his skills are indeed great or that he has great experience (whatever that means). No shame that Mitchell may "only" be a B level fighter, he came into the sport at very late stage and im sure a lot of other people will agree with me that he deserves a helluva lot of respect for what he's doing right now. You've just called Mitchell garbage for a second time, by your definition of garbage Wladimir Klitschko must be as well, please refer to my previous post. It funny that you talk about hype yet fail to grasp the frankly stupid hype that Wladimir is recieving for beating what can only be described as a giant Polish Sloth, he's suddenly 50-50 with Lewis and a top10 Heavyweight ATG. The relative hype Mitchell has recieved has been muted in comparison to what Wladimir recieves. He gets hype because he's exciting... something which is lost on most Wladimir Klitschko fans...

 

Pretty much this. Mitchell is learning on the job and Banks will present some new challenges for him. Banks likely gets a small points lead early, say 4-2, then Mitchell's harder shots start to slow him down. TKO late, maybe a come from behind decision.

Either way, tons of hate from Klittards.

 

Hes 6'3 and 225. Hes not THAT small.

And Mitchell isnt THAT big

 

After sparring with the HW champ for years under Steward's guidance, I'd think Seth Mitchell probably doesn't look so scary to Banks at this point.

Jetlag during fight week is bad. I think Mitchell looks good in this one.

 

Big step up for Mitchell, imo. Banks, while small, is a seasoned warrior and I don't see him getting blown out (though you never know). If Banks does get through the early going like I expect him to, he could really take Mitchell into some deep water late.
