Chavez apparently drew or lost a fight early on, the result of which was mysteriously reversed

 

He was DQ'd for landing a shot just after the bell which sparked his opponent.

Changed to a KO win the next day, think it was his 11th fight.

 

Herb Goldman credits Young Griffo with 174 consecutive wins (1887-1894) without an official loss.

 

I did a thread on this a few years ago, and never really got a good answer...or rather good information, story links etc...

I was watching my copy of chavez vs lockridge and Chavez is announced and depicted on screen as having one loss....

I heard alot of coruption from the mexican boxing commision, but again nothing substantial was brought to that thread.

Yep correct, thing is records shouldnt change perspective of them, Rocky drew a fight aswell which the ref gave to him as they were trying a new method of scoring and stopping draws.

 

Highlights the fact that early fighter's records are often not documented correctly or completely.
