We went back after the game and he was still there, drinking and playing the pokies, off his trolley. We got chatting to him and he was whinging about how Junior wouldn't give him a run in firsts so he thought "**** it, I'm gonna go to the pub for a beer during the game" :yep Everyone was kind of hanging off him for a while then quickly moved away because he started entering drunken idiot territory. I remember Kerry Hemsley was standing outside having a beer with some blokes and keeping a very close eye on him. I think he ended up at Melbourne for a while after that then faded into Bolivian. Must have had a bad attitude and discipline. He told me the best time of his life was standing in a huddle with the Norths boys in the sheds before a semi final while Greg Florimo revved them up. Shame that these blokes who have the talent often don't have the mental strength to go all the way.
