soloman is an ugly fighter. hed make ggg look bad..hell he makes anyone look bad. however, he may have faded. his great reflexes may have eroded a bit. ggg could do a mundine 2 on him....

The value of belts has never been as diluted as it is right now, simply because there are so many of the bloody things. Better to have 1 or 10 than not, but Soliman choosing to fight Sturm, and in the process risk a guaranteed IBF title shot, only highlights the point.

Suppose if he fights sturm and looses he picks up a nice payday and then becomes gatekeeper for 3 years and come out with a nice house after it in Hampton or stkilda.
But if he looses to geale no one will know,he gets recognition fighting sturm and ups his profile...I dunno just thinking,

While I don't disagree with that, it's more a case of being locked into the mandatory spot without decent backing isn't a position of strength to negotiate from.

Very smart manoeuvring by Sturm. Beat Soliman and no doubt he'll be sitting at #1 in the IBF rankings. In line for a rematch with Geale, probably on home soil again, and without Golovkin bearing down on him.

this would be a NON title fight.

    sturm coming off a loss.

nobody in germany would have heard of solimon.

they r huge factors that would make for much lower figures for such a fight imo.

Soliman is mandatory IBF #1. If Sturm wants to take his spot, he'll have to pay for it. Boxing Business 101. Do you honestly think Soliman's team would've taken it if they were getting paid peanuts?

Soliman has already got his biggest payday vs Mundine, he will NEVER make that money again, all he is getting these days is chicken feed. Sturm and his people wouldnt have paid him that much, he would be lucky if it was more than 30-40k, yet vs Mundine he banked 250k just for one fight. He hasnt got balls he is just a greedy son of a bch, thus he initated the rematch clause for a 3rd Mundine fight. He knew he couldnt beat him after being demolished in the 2nd fight and just wanted to gets paid again.

I hope sturm hands him his ass big time.
