Kessler "Ward Has No Guts "

If you think America is the same everywhere, you don't know much about the country. Hell, California is like 3 different places altogether. The east and west coast are like 2 different countries (not to mention the south and the midwest).

For as much crap as people talk about America, it's obvious that people don't know very much about it.

 

Travelling 8-9 timezones to a foreign country where nothing is like you know it and then fighting with a patriotic crowd against you makes most fighters fight to sub-par standard.

Ward unfairly got all his s6 fights in the US.

Nobody in the s6 won on their opponensts hometurf.

The favoured Lucian Bute looked lost in Nottingham against Froch.


Given these facts I can understand why Ward want's to stay at home. It doesn't mean that I like it and Ward's reputation suffers accordingly.

 

I understand fighting half-way across the world is more jarring. But people need to stop acting like fighting on opposites sides of a country (especially one like America) is the same as walking outside your house and fighting a guy on your doorstep.

 

It is still the US. Same language. Same food. Same people. Of course fighting in ATlantic City is different than Oakland, but Ward is still not the foreigner.

I bet that in 5 years time Ward has still not fought in his opponents backyard.

 

Most people though Ward was just some green, inexperienced kid who Kessler would walk through. Kessler himself and his team also thought this which is why they weren't bothered about travelling abroad for the fight (no one complained at the time). Now that Ward has proven these people wrong they are bitter about it.
