No, obviously no fighter stays the same if you change who they are... that's a pointless discussion. Tyson used his shorter stature to his advantage. He fought small, had great head movement and exploded up at his opponents in amazing fashion. That's what made him great. If used correctly, you can use being shorter or taller to your advantage. However short guys trying to fight tall and tall fighters bringing themselves down to the level of their opponent aren't using their stature correctly.

He was in his prime, the head movement, combinations and punching with bad intent were still there. Douglas his style totally neutralized Tyson his style (lateral movements and using the uppercut), and Douglas like Tyson was also a very talented individual. Tyson got outbullied, outworked and outpunched. The only thing that kept him standing for so long was his amazing chin.
He didn't throw a single body shot that fight and was not in shape, coming of a crash course diet of soup once a day or something ridiculous and nonstop partying. His corner was the worst and most pathetic I've ever seen in a pro fight, let alone a title fight ... only Tyson's corner was perhaps as unprepared as Tyson himself in that fight. A fluke victory that to this day remains the biggest upset in boxing and a top 3 upset in sports history, only showing how dominant Tyson was. Tyson hardly moved his head and was able to drop Douglas with the only meaningful punch of the fight. He still didn't make excuses (Don King did but he's not Tyson) and was a rematch ASAP to prove it was nothing but a fluke with him being caught of guard and Buster being in the best shape of his life and fully motivated.
