Hands down, probably the smartest interview I've just listened to that he's given. Speaks about his flaws and was a overall great interview. Below is only part of the interview. Can't post the rest but to listen to it instead, go to Check Hook Boxing.

so hope fully now we will stop hearing him tell us how is going to knock so and so out that he feels much stronger, and how every loss makes him stronger as this aint the case

For the most part that is a very positive change in attitude. I had really hoped that he could get his feet back on the ground and take a realistic view of the situation, and this sounds a lot closer to that than anything he would have said a year ago.

He still says 'we' on occasion when referring to negative things (getting KOed) and 'I' when referring to positive things ("I'm an exciting fighter"), which is a sign of only taking responsibility for the good stuff. However, he seems to be doing that much less, which I think is a sign that he's finally accepting that he needs to sort out his whole outlook.

I don't like the fact that he says that Garcia's punch would KO anyone, because I simply don't believe it, but I like that he admits that he should simply not be getting caught like that.

Overall, I think this looks like this could be the change in direction Khan needed.

He said all this after the Prescott defeat, that with Roach he was "going back to basics" and "not looking for the knockout."

I just wonder how long it'll be until he's regurgitating the same quotes about a new trainer.

Just soundbytes until we see it put into practice.

Please let's not say Amir has made improvements when he beats Molina, be use he's a guy who poses no threat to him.

Sounds great, but two of his three defeats are against opponents he ought to have dominated with ease, despite his flaws.

Garcia would always fancy his chances, being a hard left hooker and a good timer of shots.... against a man wide open to hooks allied to a weak chin.

Typical Khan interview, he alludes to Roach being a problem but at the same time he states 'he didnt follow the game plan'... He never follows the gameplan!

He has the physical attributes to be a great fighter but he is mentally unable to fulfill his potential and concentrate for 36 mins.

Its his technical abilities rather than power, his chin is average but its his recovery from being hit hard that is terrible.

The tactics he employed against Koltenik not sure on spelling is what he needs to do.

If he beats Molina which i think he will but on points.

He should go after Prescott in Jan/Feb 2013

Then L. Petterson in May think he can out point him-

Then have a commerical super fight with hatton in sept.

Really encouraging interview. I don't think Khan is an *******. I think he's really poor at wording what he thinks and getting across what he really feels. He gets petty too quickly and is clearly quite self conscious hence why he gets so defensive so quickly. But he's not a bad guy. He just needs to realise he's a world class athlete earning millions. He should be above petty twittter squabbles and pathetic trash talk with nobodies. With Kkhan, If you show him respect, he always shows respect back. That's what i've noticed anyway.

In terms of his progress as a boxer, I think he's right in what he says about his style not being agressive. But I feel Freddy could have taught him that too. I think Khan just didn't follow the gameplans that Roach set for him. Fair play for changing trainers though I hope it improves him as a fighter. And with Virgin Hunter in charge, hopefully it improves his ego and personality aswel.

This was the mental change in Khan i was looking for, going back to boxing and thinking about his action before just throwing punches, Khan has had poor punch timing and forces his punches most time, he needs to look for windows to place counter shots, something Ward is great at doing, hope Hunter cab improve Khan in this area.

I love how Khan comes out and finally says what everyone's been saying for ages and he still gets slagged down by some people.
