meh, you have to be wittier than that for it to be considered clowning, boxers shouldnt try to be comedians
The weird thing is, Froch got the benefit of the doubt in the US despite a fairly one-sided bout. Ward got no home advantage!
Andre Ward is class.. I have no doubt in my mind he'd school Froch again... The only thing Froch does is throw his hands at his opponents.. it's equivalent to a fight in the pub.. Ward knows how to box.. the first fight was fun to watch.. Froch had no idea what to do..
That's a lot of tweets for someone who doesn't care. It must be frustrating being the top of a division with such a small fan base
But what a fighter! lets be honest he schooled carl and has proud a man carl is that will be hard to take, lets hope he gets a rematch down the line.
What is really out there for him? He's at the top but doesn't really sell many tickets. He should fight out of Oakland
Considering he isnt interested he seems quite interested, which is a bit perverse by any ones standards
In what we can fairly be described as a mega fight against Chad Dawson, Ward (in his hometown) sold only 7500 tickets in 17,000 seat arena. Froch against some B-level fighter sold 10,000 and packed Nottingham FM out. Ward is a fantastic fighter with amazing skills but the fact is he's boring to watch. No doubt about it. Just because a you're a great fighter doesn't make you an entertaining or interesting fighter (e.g Klitschkos being another fine example). Froch is very entertaining to watch because of his 'all-guns blazing' style. If Froch and Ward fought identical opponents on the same night then more people would watch Froch. FACT. Ward and his team obviously don't like the fact that they can't attract any big name fights when Froch can (talks or Bute and Kessler rematches in recent weeks). It's obviously nipping away at them so now Ward has started to act up a bit on Twitter. No surprise. As much a good, down-to-earth guy as he comes across as being, I honestly wouldn't watch any Andre Ward unless it was a rematch Froch. His style is just not good viewing.
Figures Ward loves twitter. It's the only way he's ever going to meet people from outside his hometown.
He sells as many tickets in Oakland as Froch does in Nottingham by all accounts. And he made more money is the S6. This isn't Timothy Bradley at 140, Ward's a "star". Not in the Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto type range, but comfortably in the B-level attractions with Devon Alexander and Brandon Rios type guys.
