It has nothing to do with being emotional or people being proud of their predictions. It has to do with getting oddly excited every time a prospect hits a roadblock, and then all but declaring it then end of their career. I'm not from the states and have no emotional attachment to Seth Mitchell. It's just that I see threads like these every time a prospect loses, and I find it irritating. Instead of focusing on Banks' accomplishment, everyone chooses to gloat about how they knew Mitchell was 'never really any good'. The whole mindset of fight fans just bothers me sometimes.
Mitchell was and is unexperienced. He tried to run over his opponents and didnt fight smart. He got caught cold, as simple as it is. Maybe he has not the best chin. He has to work hard on his gameplans and stop rushing in his opponents completely open. That works vs. journeymen, but not vs. a Top20 HW that can box. He is not a boxer with a deep pedigree. But i think he has the mental tools to come back better or at least smarter. His punch is still a dangerous weapon.
This loss is the best thing that could have happened to Mitchell. He desperately needed a wake-up call. Also, now he'll have no choice but to fight a few more C-level opponents before trying to "step up" again. No one ever thought he'd make it to the top, anyway, but he is an exciting fighter to watch. I hope he stays in the sport, and maybe finds a new trainer.
I am genuinely speechless. I had purpose to stay up till the fight but i got too drunk and passed away fewhours before the fight.. Anyway the story is always when this happens I go to box rec next morning and click name of the combatant I thought was going to lose just for interest for seeing like which round he got knocked out. So in this case I searched Banks name to see which round he got blasted away. i could not believe my eyes. I honestly thought Mitchell was going to pummel him and puit Johnathon away like nothing. I had Mitchell by brutal ko mid/late rounds.. This is a fukin dramatic and cruel sport. Respect for Mitchell thou and more respect to guys who were saying Banks was going to win.:shock:
People that think this is a setback for Mitchell, seriously need a dose of reality. The guy just hasn't got it. I know it's hard to accept for most Americans, but he's just another hype job from your country. Wilders the next who's going to get smashed!
you serious??? back??? yeah, he'll be back, alright...ON HIS BACK...!!! he's a Jitterbug, and with all them surgeries on his knee..he's as good as DAMAGED GOODS... he's now a trial horse for YOUNG heavyweights..you watch...and mark my words..
He seems to be like the Amir Khan of heavyweight division. He gets hit and he crumbles. He packs a punch, but he really cannot take a shot.
I don't have anything against Mitchell but props to Banks. It's funny to be able to say yeah "I did ok but I got beat by The World Heavyweight Champion.....'s coach"
Okay Brits. Now it is right time for the COLD HARD TRUTH. Next one going down is David Price, not a single fukin doubt about that. There is not really excuse for him. He can not help his chin not even his long amateur pedigree.
Because a lot of boxing "fans" are spiteful, childish, and delight in sticking the boot in. Why? I suppose it makes them feel important in such way, or perhaps they don't know any better. Looking at the petty, faction-ridden nature of the sport, I suppose it's only natural that its fanbase would be the same way. Couple that with poor education, low levels of intelligence and knowing that nothing you say online will have any repercussions in the real world, and you end up with the type of online "fans" you have here. Boxing as a sport is in a big mess, but I sometimes think we get what we are deserving of.
